Worthwhile

A fresh blank sheet
Time has rolled into
It's typewriter.
The ribbon's been inked
Fresh and fast.
Life awaits poised
To begin once again
The staccato reports as
It bangs the keys,
Typing out how 
One leads it
Through this New Year.
Lead it such that
It is worthwhile
At the beginning of the next,
To pause, read, reflect, 
Learn, unlearn, resolve,
And carry on what should be,
Leaving behind the unnecessary
And storing the cherishworthy
From what that sheet reads
At this year's end.
