Wreckuiem
To greener pastures he walked as a free man
Singing notable tunes he had forgotten by choice
Onward to a star before it takes its bow
Unfettered, soulful in a smoking voice
He sings, he fouls a lyric
But, continues in continuum
Composing a bleak requiem
Thinking of the one that gave him his walking papers
He ran from her to spite
To show that he was not stationery in the act of going
The art of leaving was on his mind
'I must master it.' he thought
After the damage he leftÂ
Who was at fault? Who was driving the car?
They both were behind the wheel, going out of control
Love crashed and burned
Hard lessons were learned
To walk away unscathed is miraculous
But, to flee the scene, dystopic
He wants to U-turn
He goes back singing silently
She sings operatic and violently
She blames, he countersÂ
They circle each other
They want to hate
But, they want to love
And they want to leave the wreck behind
To continue in continuum
Composing a bright requiem
