Wrinkles in Time

As age sets in
long before we want
or even realize
Time begins to erode our resolve
Weathered hands
wrinkled and chapped
beyond repair
are our first sign
that time has changed us
As time continues
along its course
the wrinkles continue to spread
Like ripples on water
the past wears us thin
turning our skin translucent
almost blue in the sunlight
mad our veins become
ever more easily seen
by all who gaze upon us
Old age has taken its toll
on a once youthful body
