WRITERS BEWARE

WRITERS BEWARE

Wait! Wait!Β
I have had an epiphany
An awakening
As scary as it sounds......

They breed!!!

Plagued by "writer's night"
Unable to stop the words
I wandered in the dark
Only to find........

I caught them!
Stumbled upon them
Dirty little fornicating buggers
Words, breeding words

Writhing, squirming
Twisting in verbal passion
They moanΒ
Mumbling their own names

Carrying on
Hyphenating, conjuncting,
Portmanteauing, rhyming
Hungering for paper or screen

In unguarded moments,Β
With unthinkable abandon
In dark cerebral cavities,
In neuronal crevasses, they mate!

Now I’m not inferringΒ
They have any inateΒ
Intelligence of their own,
Just instinct I know

But…….

The more you try to free themΒ
The more the dirty little beasts procreate.Β
There is no end, no respite
The more you use them the more there are.

So its too late,
Abandon all hope
Become resigned
Accept your fate

For we that write
No rescue
No escape

So, you, the afflicted, you know what to do

Your most welcome! But you're joking regarding my ilk, surely?  It's the poets like you that show us...writers, how it should be done!! ☺

I remember what you wrote. How many do you read and remember later? From the loving male figure encouraging and laughing with the children to the chilling neighbor and the misted windows of the Honda Civic. Two reads, to memories. If thats not writing, what is?
