War is Hell.
War is evil, pure and incarnate.
But war is sometimes also a necessary evil to ensure the greater good of all.
Take WWII and Hitler's Holocaust, for example.
How many more innocents might have died and suffered at the hands of the Nazi regime had we not intervened?
How many American, British and other young lives might have been lost had we invaded Japan?
As I said, war is indeed Hell.
I know, I've been in combat as a US Marine.
And no matter how careful you are there is going to be collateral damage.
It beats the alternative.
