Yamatorige - Feathers of A Copper Pheasant

Somewhere high above
the most precariously placed
of snow-capped peaks,
bathed in those long golden
shadows of Fuji ..
She first came into our view
as if in slow motion
and began to carve a series
of near perfect circles,
figure of eights and a single
double helix with just
the tip of outstretched wings ..

A samurai sword? An ancient katana perhaps? If this is about what I am
thinking, it's a great metaphor for the yamatorige. And if it's about the 
flight of a pheasant, then it's beautifully described. Either way,
