Years

Years

My eyes stare into space,Ā
I drown in my own thoughts,
suffocation is all that I feel.Ā

My heart thumps, my lungs gasping for the relief of air that I know will never come.Ā

Reaching out I watch as the last bit of light escapes from my fingertips and the darkness swallows me whole.
