The yellow Christ

The yellow Christ

Whence I came to
The Isle of Tahiti
Having sailed across
this amnesia
Seeing Gauguin in the haze
And the natives of Polynesia
Greeting with smiles
As the tides drift slowly in

Having left France
As I must
Sailing across seas
Unto salvation

Waxing and waning
In these
Polynesian isles
Waiting for the yellow Christ
--------
Gaugiun famous painting
The yellow Christ 1889
