Poem -

YESTERDAY

I cannot let go of yesterday
Because yesterday is the only day
That I have control of

I get to reflect on the past
And select that which made me laugh
Mistakes and poor decisions
I can easily blot out
As yesterday lingers in my mind

But today, as the sun rise
I have twenty four hours of surprise
Having no idea of what's gonna happen
Which way the wind will blow
Will there be a downpour or the sun's glow

Your actions are clear to me
No guessing of what will be
Because yesterday recorded every word
Every smile and frown
Is stained on the canvas of my minds reality

For me..
It's so hard to say goodbye
To yesterday
Today is filled with speculation, anticipation
And frustration
Tomorrow is beyond my eyes

So give me yesterday
Where the sun no longer shines
And that which was done in ignorance
Is forgiven as I choose to remember
Only what's worth while.
