YESTERDAY’S RAIN

YESTERDAY’S RAIN

Keep looking as far as the eyes can see
Let your expectations become a reality,
Abandon the shades of the trees
And let your skin peel with the fire of the sun.

Like yesterday's rain, lost in the fury of the sand
I will not return.

Cast away the sleep from your eyes,
Ignore your health and compromise.

Or fill the seas with your repentant tears
Not even the shaking of the earth can move me.

Like yesterday's rain lost in the fury of the sand,
My heart is afixed, I will not return.

Wilford Barker.
