Poem -

You

I did see it coming.
The glittering ball of providence,
it need not hover.

The free fall IĀ felt,
a momentary blip, it appeared.
Strange the way it goes,
doesn't it look odd,
in the retrospective mirror.
I did see it coming,
but IĀ was closed.

I have missed the touch,
the secure hold
on my hand, waist and heart.
The sensation and warmth
your flame gave to me,
a beacon in the storm.

It came, you conquered,
yet no sound of victory passed the lips.
In death you are as silent,
apparently as you were in my life.

Coping would seem an easy thing, indeed,
were it only you missing from my blood.
As it is, you took the others with you.
