Poem -

You can't cage angels...

You can't cage angels...

I am with broken soul, feeling limp, lost and alone, with darkness inside my heart
I am with the fallen, nowhere to spread my wings, no will to carry on
I am surrounded, feeling clouded, the room filling up with fake smiles
I am stronger than this, my life of an angel I love, so this time is mine

You can't cage me in
I'm nobody's guilty sin
For I will fly once again
To free people from pain

The beauty I see in people is my strength to carry on through the skies
The hunger I feel brightens up my halo and tears down so many lies
Good always prevails, and all that mortals have is their soul
Within these metal bars it was innocent heart's that kept me going

There was a time when I welcomed manipulation into my life
These were dark times and humiliation said I couldn't fly
There was a time when I created my own fruitful dream
These were good times and seduction was my youthful friend

You can't cage me in
I'm nobody's guilty sin
For I will fly once again
To free people from pain
I've lived poor
I've lived rich
I've been unsure
I won't wilt
I will soar
I will be free
This angel won't be caged
For I have too much grace
Let me fly
Time is mine!
