Poem -

You were

Today I was at asked to describe you

But I was at a loss for words, my mind askew

You were the deep blue of the ocean when I looked in your eyes

You were the cold sheets on a warm summer night when I felt your embrace

You were the newborn roses in the summer when I touched your face

You were the sound of church bells when you sang softly in my ear

You were fresh made pancakes in the morning when you wore the new cologne

You were also the taste of bitter coffee when you spat horrible words at me

You were like Heaven meeting earth

You were my favorite song on replay

You were the skin meeting water on a hot day

You were every pinky promised made and every secret whispered

You were the blanket of stars that covered us that calm night

You were all of this I thought of when I was asked

But I was at a loss for words, my mind askew
