Poem -

You Were Too Young To Know.

You Were Too Young To Know.

It was so very long ago.
 love was new
to you back then.
You were young
Oh!
how young you were.

Did you never know
how much you loved me?
That it would never fade
The passions of fate
could never diminish.
I suppose.
You were just
too young to know.

Destiny always will fly away
in the wild autumn winds.
Like dreams
The copious red leaves
blow to distant places.
far away from their trees.

Our meetings
are infrequent now.
But when meet
I feel your eyes
Burning my soul.
The heat of passions
almost forgotten
flare up
 like a bellowed fire.

I know the cause
my darling.
I always did.
But you were
Just too young.
Too young to know.
