You Won't Try Because You Deny

You Won't Try Because You Deny

Last night, you got really angry when we had your intervention.
You screamed at us even though we had the best of intentions.
The truth is that you drink too much.
You use the bottle like it's a crutch.

You say you can quit any time you want but that is a lie.
You will not get better if your problem is something you continue to deny.
You are in serious need of help and deep down, you know that's the truth.
But you're not happy unless you're drinking something that is 100 Proof.

You won't try because you deny, that is easy to perceive.
Your wife said if you don't get some help, she will leave.
You're strong enough to put away the bottle and no longer be a boozer.
Get the help that you need and prove to everybody that you're not a loser.

(Even though this poem is fictional, it's reality for certain people.)
