You'll never understand

I've lived my whole life as a women.
Treated less because of what is between my legs.
You've lived your whole life as a man. Praised because of what you have in your pants.
I'm a women and you're a man.
Believe me you don't understand.

Brittany Azevedo, terrific poem and subject matter....this is written with great conviction and from a personal point of view, well done....and adding to what Rose said about 'it's a man's world'
'...but it wouldn't be nothing... without a woman in it...' James Brown (from the song, it's a man's world)

thank you for the read! This poem hits close to home. It is one of a daily struggle to live life throw a different lense, one to begin a conversation between men and women. For us to stop trying to put our perspective on someone else's life due to our own experience because we'll never be able to fully understand. What seems like just a walk down the street can be filled with so much anxiety and I get told to stop being dramatic. Just as I'll never understand (or belittle) what struggles a man goes through and men will simply never understand how it feels to be a women. May this be a beginning of a conversation to enter a ground of "I don't understand but I respect your struggle"
