Young birthdays

So many years I spentĀ
adapting to lifeĀ
Fun filled birthdays every cake decorated with pixies and fairiesĀ
Red roses and greenĀ
Balloons and confettiĀ
Best years before I got to know the cruel world firsthandĀ
Before all I knew was happiness
Bright colors and endless loveĀ
An innocence that unfortunately fades with ageĀ
soon our minds are clouded with fear and hectic deedsĀ
Bad news from mediaĀ
The world is insane..fun times are over

In deep sombre thoughts,
I meet demons in disguise,
Of hope, love and peace.
