Your Shirt Pocket

Your Shirt Pocket

I want to live
in your shirt pocket
with the lint
and stray strings.
I want to live
next to your heart,
always close,
always with you.
I want you
to look down,
see me,
and smile.
It's dark,
yet cozy.
I want to grow accustomed
to your smell
and the pounding
of your heart.
I will befriend
the dust bunnies,
for they know you
as I’d like to.
I will make
a home.
You will be
my home.
And I will be
your heart.
