Poem -

By your side

I can see you now, the doctor says

Tears run down my face as I see your eyes, and where you lay

With a light and weak voice you say " I love you"

With as much heart as I can find I say "I love you too"

I sit through the night holding your hand

When soon after your hour glass of life runs out of sand

I remember that night so clearly, it has never left my mind

No matter how much I search I can't find my heart, because that night I left it behind

Many nights I sit under the stars hoping to see your eyes

Hoping to see your warm gentle stare lost in the skies

On lonely nights I think of you even more

But the tears remind me your not coming home like you did before

Now I sit by your grave sight, and even though your gone, in you I can still confide

Though your gone, I come every day to remain by your side
