Your smile

Your smile

When I close my eyes, I see your smile and in my thoughts I dream awhile.
Of all those times we used to have and all those times we used to laugh.
Of days gone by when we were one, but now I see those days are gone.
One day in heaven you will see, just how much you mean to me.
Until that time, I'll wait awhile and close my eyes and see your smile.

David, I can so relate to this poem. Sad yet full of love and beautifully worded pieceΒ

Originally written about my mum but it has different meanings now. Nice that you can write something about someone an age ago and then years later it can mean the same about a totally different person.

Life and death, it's a beautiful tragedy, awakening evolution yet ripping our hearts. Lovely poem David, keep those eyes closed and smile.
