Poem -

Your Sweetness is a Drug

I was dreaming when I saw your face
running free far from this bitter place
The chemicals rushing through my bloodstream
making you sweeter while making me mean

Letting go of who I am supposed to be
in the eyes of a world that doesn't care
Wanting nothing more than you with me
let the people at the two of us stare

My veins hurt from withdrawal so much
it's not the drugs this time but your touch
No price too high for a moments relief
your lips stole my world away, a thief

Coming to take everything I know
losing control, needing you near
Bearing fruit the seeds finally grow
how can I worry when you're here
