A segment of the "The Nothing man" by Ben Goode 2018 (c) Chapter "The joke's on you"

Principle Benson Mario was a no-nonsense sort of fellow in his late forties.
He had a very gruff persona, and not many of his colleagues really liked him, but he wasn't particularly worried anyway.
Benson had made a point of becoming a Principle based on his own experiences, of being bullied in school.Β
Three boys entered into his office accompanied by his secretary, who rolled her eyes before introducing them.
"These are the boys associated with the bullying matters Mr Mario. Mark Halliday, Keith Grady, and Tom Baker. I'll leave them with you." The secretary forced a smile, as she left the room, but it was definitely a sarcastic one.
The boys started to talk among themselves jokingly, and made it obvious they were mocking the principle.
Benson slammed his fists down hard on his desk, and they were momentarily startled into silence as he rose from his chair.
"It's all a big joke to you isn't it? Ridiculing other kids. Humiliating them, destroying their confidence?"
"Well I'm glad you see the joke sir, why aren't you laughing?" Mark nudged the other two, as they collectively laughed.
"You don't understand, do you?" Benson shook his head.
"We understand just fine, it's survival of the fittest sir!" Tom scoffed.
"No, you really don't understand" Benson sighed.
"It's just a joke sir, it's not our fault they have no sense of humour!"
"Let me show you how much of a joke it really is..." Benson clicked his fingers. The room was dark for a moment, but then ten other young people stood silently around in a circle around the three bullies. They weren't alive, but rather ghostly decaying horrific forms. The three boys screamed in terror as they seemed to recognize them.
"All victims of your jokes boys, it's not funny anymore is it?"
"Make them go away sir, make them go away!" The boys pleaded.
Benson clicked his fingers again, and the ghosts were all gone. The boys bolted out of the room.
"Schools out!" Benson smiled, and then disappeared himself.
