Alanir and the magic stones
A very long time ago, thousands of years ago,
In a region still sparsely populated, Lived elves, goblins, creatures that we will no longer see today.
The few humans who inhabited the moor cohabited with the creatures in peace and respect for each other.
One day a young farmer named Alanir was leading his sheep in the meadow near the lake.
There he met a young girl who seemed lost, deathly pale and her eyes empty of all emotion.
However, she looked up when she saw Alanir.
She smiled at him but the young boy got scared and the sheep fled.
The wind picked up in the branches of the poplars that surrounded the lake and the sky darkened.
The mysterious young woman didn't speak yet her voice echoed in Alanir's head.
She then held out her hand. "Take this present. It will be more useful to you than to me."
In her hand, Alanir found some smooth, shiny green stones. He took them gently.
Suddenly, the steps of a galloping horse were heard on the path.
A dark knight was charging towards them.
The horse was just as black and smoke straight out of hell surrounded them both.
Alanir had never seen anything like it and froze in place.
The young woman grabbed his arm and held it out to the demonic knight.
The stones began to heat up in Alanir's hand. They burned the palm of his hand but a beam of light came out and hit the rider.
The horse stopped and reared in pain as did the knight who evaporated into a heap of smoking ash on the path.
The young woman let go of Alanir's arm and smiled at him.
"You delivered me. Thank you." she says. "I give you these stones as a reward. I am the fairy of the lake and the knight had imprisoned me. I walked this path for centuries because of him. By making him disappear, my hindrance disappeared with him. "
"Thank you, but-" Alanir didn't have time to finish when the young woman had disappeared.
