"Without a grave stone" By Ben Goode 2016 (c)

Brave but beyond a fear
Lost and sad without a tear.
Broken inside, but the clockwork still works
And it tells another time.
Perhaps a better one in reflection.
The mind still screams in defiance.
A rebel mind driving an old car.
The power remains within,
as the outside rusts.
A classic memory.
Experienced but not immortal.
Wise but not beyond mistakes.
Bound to crash. A turn so severe.
Hurt the engine runs without fuel.
Bleeds the oil from its heart.
No ignition on a cold morning.
Sleeping forever in a scrapyard.
Without a gravestone, without respect.
