   Anthony J Mendez 29 from Long Branch grew up listening to his father’s records. This gave him an extensive musical foundation. Anthony Edward Mendez (father) was a blue collar jack of all trades. Anthony (son) remembers his father scribbling down verses to many unfinished original songs in his spare time. "I guess my old man had a bigger dream, something other than being a hamster on a wheel. He died working for Home Depot. That can't be my fate, although my family would be quite satisfied with me digging ditches, It's not their life and a pay check doesn't equal happiness when you hate the job. I epitomize the entrepreneur dreamer sprit. I am the character in most of my lyrics." said Anthony (while interviewed).After the loss of his father in 2008 Anthony J. decided to venture off on an independent path. That was a choice that made for hard times turned harder but paved the way to his amazing song/ lyrics writing. Anthony's lyrics tell the tales of dreamers. Anthony's words have been compared to Bruce Springsteen's soulful writing. Some of the lyrics come from first had experiences, while other songs are just about what could be. The future is bright for this young talent, as long as he can survive the heartache of being completely alone. "I welcome the solitude it keeps me hungry and gives me plenty of time to hone my craft. That's what gives me my edge" said Anthony who now spends most of his time isolated from friends and family.
