Daddy's Little Girl

Born a little premature, a tiny baby girl, with a full head of hair, bounced into the world with a yell. The daddy was standing close enough to almost catch her, but for the tight grip the mother had on his hand, she dared not let go seemingly more afraid of losing him and his love then her baby produce from that love so satisfying. Mom's lips had been great for kissing and marriage gave dad all he could stand, and this bundle was proof that good kissing breads benefits for dads. But being born premature can be a lead to trouble in paradise, and one mistaken identity from wanna be gangsters, can lead to a premature second marriage leaving a little girl born out of love forgotten even if she was daddy's little girl.
With mother some what comfortable, the only thing that broke her lift into slumber was the after birth, that gave rise to more pain. The due date said her baby was premature, but all this to due, gave rise to a sad mother who was thankful on all fronts. Whispers in the room gave direction for investigation, so dad asked a question or two, and was told that his little girl was a little premature, but with close observation, she would be ok. Watery eyes never gave a smile a good name, but dad looked at his baby leaving the room, as mom again gripped his hand almost to comfort herself from the pending gloom..
Wanting to get it right, this father of a brand new baby girl was in the doctors moth almost as much as all his nurses put together. Asking this for that, and wanting explanations two and three times in different sequences almost as if to make the doctor stumble and then say ha...got-cha!. And before long both father and mother set off to take their little girl  home. No one knows how or why, but that dad seemed out of sorts. But what was going on in the mother's mind, was miles apart from what was going on in this dad's head. Mom held on to her baby girl, but dad looked on like the whole National Guard complete.

Eyes wondering here and there, only pausing for a strange vehicle slowing down just enough to investigate dad. Nope, dont know him, was all dad could think. Mom, however with  drifting thoughts and moments of sadness unexplained, kept steady to the path that led home, Teary eyed and  without understanding it herself, that car that slowed down and looked suspecting at dad, gave her more gestures that woke up more jealousy to brew in her already waring  heart. Dad would have whistled a tune if he didn't feel the sound would confuse his new baby girl, but was happy just walking close enough to almost hear her beating heart. Days turned into weeks and weeks into months and they passed as if unattached to years. This little girl was loved by her father and she knew it, while mother never got over the happy premature delivery, for in that moment she was glad to have the child out even if a danger to her own child. Her guilt was eased by the suspicion her husband was cheating. All these feelings and the bound daddy shared with his little girl somehow pitted her emotions for normal and that of being a mother against her husband and child.
One afternoon set in memory, this little girl waited for her dad to pick her up with her favorite combo. Ice-cream and coffee cake, was her favorite delight, and dad was late. This was not like dad and the sky seemed to push the day on almost too fast for comfort. A teacher seeing the little girl standing, knew right away something was wrong and without thinking took the little girl home. Mom! Mom! where is my ice-cream and coffee cake? the little girl demanded as she broke through the doors almost forgetting to say thank you to the teacher who brought her home. But almost from instinct, the little girl gave a make shift wave and a grunting thank you as if her mind was preoccupied with more.
That night dad never came home, and again mom was almost too glad, for she had been brewing mischief in her heart ever since the birth of her child, not to mention the day home from the hospital, that suspicious car, Mom had it all worked out, and if he has another woman, good rid-dings. Crying her little eyes to sleep, the little girl was heart broke and wanted to know what could she do to find out what happen to her dad. Mom being so sure it was another woman, told her daughter life is choices and your dad made his. With a call to the police station and a few to hospitals in the area, Mom was satisfied her hunch was right, and bad her daughter grow up fast. What seemed to be a life-time in reverse, mother began to look better and smell better and before long the fruits of change brought on it's after effects.
This mother had legendary kisses, so it wasn't long before marriage bells rang out, behind a divorce from apparent abandonment. Like lions, this new husband did not take too kindly to another man's child, but tolerated her because it was the law. But the law was shady on neglect, and this little one got a  heavy dose of it, both from mother and new dad. What use to be the laughter coming from the little girl, was exchanged to the laughter of her mother coming from the same bedroom where once she was conceived. Who would have thought that kisses could bring about mayhem.
Forgotten, is a lyric in manya song, it is the source of great depression in the elderly, but here she lay, in her own room and without her only source for ice-cream and coffee cake. Some days trembling other days just plain cold. Sadness has no limits in age, nor does it decrease when the recipient is a little girl. She never had friends in school, cause her dad was all the friend she felt she would ever need. Now without her dad, the world grew big and dark almost over night. And just when she thought it could get no worst, this little girl was of that age where she was changing grades at a time when most kids were already paired up with friends from the earliest.
With her pillow soak with tears, morning broke in on her with unforgiven vengeance, and a big brawling bass voice told her to get up for school in a tone of a lion. Trembling and afraid, this little girl braved her new day, and because she had too, she went off to school to face it almost as she did the loss of her Dad. When school was over, a familiar face, looking like this was why l was missing, with ice-cream and coffee cake, as if he didn't nor couldn't forget, stood off where she could not miss him. she began to cry. Daddy! Daddy!...seeing his daughter with the full head of hair flowing in the wind as she made her way towards him in acceptance, daddy could not hold back his own tears, and dropped some of the coffee cake...and gripped his daughter almost like he wanted to do when at first he laid eyes on her tiny form. And in a moment, he told his little girl finding her is a daddy's job, and of his abduction from a mistaken identity, skipping Continents, language barriers, and prayer. Turned out, her birth and the time line was proof enough that the man in the slow driving car needed, to convince for his life. But sadly for him, a Mob who makes these kinds of mistakes, dont do send homes. His getting home was of no interest to them, they still had a fish to fry, and a farewell in tongues was all she wrote  . The implication were staggering for this little mind, but daddy was home, as she told him of her new dad and sadness. Right there in that brief moment, what life dished out for them both, seemed impossible even for the odds. Yet in the tears and smiles, this  could all be worked out in each others arms. Yes, there had been enough to endure, but it didn't matter to these two, for they had each other, and if but just for Mom's  kisses, her baby girl is growing up fast, and although mom has a new love, Dad  felt he got the best deal...nj
