DANCE WILL SUPPORT THE BODY AND MIND

Says Celebrity Shweta Maurya, World Ambassador, Marathoner based Bangalore in India
For celebrity Shweta Maurya, the art of dancing is like any other performing art which consists of intentionally purposefully selected sequences of human movement. This movement has aesthetic and symbolic value and is acknowledged as dance by performers and audiences within a meticulous and vivid culture. Workouts in a gymnasium make our bodies and muscles stiff.  Dance makes our bodies flexible and makes us agile. In this way, this art eases locomotion so that you could walk better, run faster, and do any kind of work without putting too much strain on your muscles. Workouts in the gymnasium are pure physical exercises.

Getting over this inertia will help us to have a pleasant night of dancing. Do your best to get the first few dances once we arrive at a dance event; it gets easier afterward. Dance is a sequence of movements, someone moving their body. The art of dance is a performing art form. It transmits culture, and emotions tell stories, and can be a testimony of a historical moment or a place of origin. power exults out of the performance of a succession of gestures. It has been performed and has inspired artists for as long as humankind has been in existence.  Dancers are more likely to seek those they see dancing either on the floor or a stage. Only as a second choice do they turn to those sitting on the sidelines.

Dance is also a form of art that often calls on others to support its intention, be it music, stage decor, costume, and more. Still, it also stands on its own and can be performed as freely or as carefully choreographed as possible. From ballet to square dance, many forms of dance exist from belly dancing, from yesterday to today and tomorrow, from duo, trio, and troupe performances. Physical exercises are meant to tone up only specific muscles at a time, whereas dance works on the entire body and on a wider group of muscles. Workouts in a gymnasium make your body and muscles stiff. Dance makes your body flexible and makes you agile. In this way, Dance eases locomotion so that you can walk better, run faster, and do any kind of work without putting too much strain on your muscles.
Workouts in the gymnasium are pure physical exercises. They require labor and strength and there is no connection whatsoever with the mental, spiritual and creative faculties. Dance is more holistic and involves your body as well as your emotional faculties.

While dancing your body and mind work in tandem. The mind gives directions and the body follows the instructions at high speed. This enhances your mind’s control of the movements of the body and reflexes. All this is missing in gym-based exercises, where the body follows the mind’s instructions at a very slow speed, and that too without any innovation. Physical Exercises and workouts can be taxing and painful, especially when you have limited time to devote to them. Dance on the other hand is relaxing, a soothing experience that does not wear you out much.Though modern gymnasiums have music facilities, which keep playing in the background (not in tune with the exercises you are doing, the effect however is magnified and positive in the case of dance. Music and dance go well in harmony with each other and are inseparable. The overall exercise or dancing to the music is pleasurable.

Dance as a discipline has more prospects than body-building. Dance is well accepted and an approved discipline in art schools and institutions. As a career option, the avenues are more and as a professional dancer, you can earn much more than as a gym instructor. Dance makes you more active and noticeable in social circles. There are many occasions, like parties and marriages when it is time to hit the floor. To make it an unforgettable moment you have to create an impression. That is one moment when you realize that your muscles and body are not just enough. You need to move it in rhythm for which you need to know dancing. Workouts in the gymnasium, swimming, and dancing are some of the best ways to reduce your weight. However, dance proves to be a better option because of the burning of that extra fat from your entire body, especially with fitness workouts like  “Zumba”, which are proven to burn more calories than a treadmill or rowing machine – in fact way more.

Lastly, when we learn to dance, we not only acquire a new skill to impress others but entertain all our near and dear ones. When we are fully trained our loved ones enjoy the performance as much as all others perform. The best part is that the feeling on the dance floor is something divine, something we could experience only and not describe. Dance is also a connections agent – it connects to rhythms, to cultural traditions. It is a social form of art and has been highly popular in recent years with television shows. There is something highly freeing in dancing – so let’s celebrate the art of dance!
