the fight against hell chapter 1

Roze

Rozelle woke up in a strange place. The room was hard to describe. It had an unfathomable pureness to it “Where am I?” she shouted, walking around.

A booming voice answered her question, “You're in heaven.”

“Whoa, who was that!” she said, almost about to scream at the top of her lungs.

“ I am the all powerful Lord and savior,God if you like .” the magnificent voice answered.

“Why am I here, shouldn’t I be in Hell by now?”

“No” The Almighty Holy Father answered sternly.

“But I committed an unforgivable sin.” Rozelle asked in a confused voice.

“I am open to forgiving your sin.” God replied.

“Oh...I see...” Rozelle said, relieved. “Why?”

“Because I need you, Rozelle, I need you to fight in a war for me. And because you are strong, I made you an Angel.”

“A war? Are you crazy? I’m a weakling, I can't fight!” Rozelle said, trying not to yell, but did not succeed.

“Find it in your heart and you can do anything.” A handsome young man said as he walked through the door.

“Who...are you” questioned Rozelle in a curious tone.

“Sorry for not introducing myself. My name is Liam.” He said. Liam looked to be about Rozelle’s age. Little did she know she would soon grow to like this stranger.

“Rozelle, Liam is going to be your partner in your adventure.” God interjected.

“What adventure?” Rozelle asked.

“Oh, just a little quest around the world.” Liam said sarcastically in Rozelle’s face.

“A little quest around the world!? How about a large one!” Rozelle yelled. Both Liam and Rozelle started arguing in spite of God’s presence.

“These two are going to have to just learn to get along.” God said to himself out loud.

“Huh?” Liam and Rozelle said in unison.

“Along with your endeavors to get along the two of you will have to find some companions to join you on your journey. Specifically four Angels.”

“Four angels? Can’t you just order four angels to guide me along?” Rozelle asked God. Her mind was still reeling from the thought that she had died.

“I think it would be better if you found them on your own. You have to leave to travel and talk to the many angels in my realm. I warn you some will not look like those you have read about in books.” God replied.

Liam looked up from staring into nothing to looking into  Rozelle’s mesmerizing eyes. “Boy is that an understatement. You should see the Thrones.”

At that moment, several frightening creatures passed by them. They looked like floating cart wheels. Eyes covered every surface and they were accompanied by what looked like a normal angel, though it had four faces and four wings. When the wheel moved, the four winged angel moved along with it.

“Find your way Rozelle, Liam, because without you, Heaven is doomed.” The voice faded away, and they knew then they were alone.

Liam reached out and touched Rozelle’s hand, “It was hard for me at first too, Roze. Can I call you that?” he rambled on while she stared at the creatures passing by. “Those are the Thrones. There are nine orders of angels in all. Each one has a purpose. The Thrones and the Humdrum (Cherubim) are connected.”

“Oh...”she said still in shock from the looks of the angels. “We should get started on our journey” Liam stated.

“Ok.”, she answered. As they set off into their long journey to find the four angels, Roze spotted a pretty black cat.

“We need to keep him.” She said. “Sure, it’s just another mouth to feed.” Liam said meanly. She put him down. They continued walking and the cat followed along behind them. A few hours later they spotted a town and decided to go get some food.

“Look, there is a restaurant. I bet they have good food. Can we go?” Rozelle asked.

“Sure, I'm hungry.” Liam answered. As they walked in the restaurant Rozelle noticed a girl she remembered from school. Her name was Abby.

“Hello,” said Rozelle waving to Abby.

“Oh, hi, who are you?”

“Don't you remember me, Rozelle, I used to be friends with you until you died after being in a coma”

“Oh! Sorry I did not recognize you. I am so sorry.”she said. “So who is this handsome young man? Is he your boyfriend?”Abby asked.

“Wait, what? NO!” Rozelle exclaimed blushing just a little bit. She was starting to get to like this stranger Liam. After all, he was cute.

“Yes, we are boyfriend and girlfriend.” said Liam.     “WHAT!?” yells Roze kind of confused.

Liam laughs. “HAHAHA! You should have seen the look on your face. Hysterical!” Liam said, still laughing.

“Stop it!” Roze whined.

“So, where are you two headed? Can I come too?” asked Abby, while trying to study Liam’s expression to see if he really did like Rozelle. They exited the restaurant. The black cat was waiting right outside the door.

“I thought I told that cat to get away from us. Go home!” yelled Liam.

“I told the cat to stay outside and wait for me so please don’t yell at him. He is the only pet I have ever had.” Roze said in quite a sad little voice sounding as if about to cry.

“Oh shut up, Roze. He is not your cat. He is a just stray!” Liam yelled at her. Roze sat down and started to cry. The little black cat walked over to her and started to rub up against her legs and began purring.

Liam stammered through his sentence attempting to apologize. “I...I…I’m sorry.” Liam said sheepishly.

“For what?” asked Rozelle, looking up at him.

“For yelling at you the way I did. I am sorry.” said Liam apologetically.

“Um… should I just wait inside?” questioned Abby.

“Yes. Please wait inside.” Liam and Roze both said in unison.

Liam looked down at Roze and smiled. “I am just stressed because we have to find four angels to go on this journey with us, and the only ones we have added to our group are your friend from school and a stray cat. What are they doing in heaven anyway? I wonder… is Abby an angel? Angels come in all forms. For that matter, the kitten might be an angel too. What do you think Roze?”

"I don't know about the cat, but Abby could be an angel. We just need to find the right time." Said Roze.

"Yeah your right" Liam said in a serious tone.

“Hey, look over there. There are a bunch of angels gathering all in one spot. I wonder what the commotion is about.” Roze pointed to a throng of angels surrounding two angels locked in combat with one another. One was obviously winning.

“I did not know angels could fight one another.” Liam said as he started off in that direction.

“Maybe they are training. Angels are God’s warriors.” Roze replied with a know-it-all attitude.

“True. They could be fighting. Like you said they are God’s warriors.” said Liam.

“Let's go look. There’s a crowd starting to form.” Roze said, as she started towards the angels. Just then, Abby came out running in haste to catch up.

“Hey guys; wait up! Where are you going?”she said as she finally caught up.

“We are going to go see those angels over there where the huge crowd is. There looks like there is a fight between two angels. We think they are training. Maybe one of them could be one of us.” explained Rozelle.

“Oh, but one of whom” questioned Abby.

“One of the guardian angels of course.” Liam said sarcastically.

“Oh the guardian angels!”Abby exclaimed.

“Seems as if they are taking opponents” Liam said, ignoring what Abby had to say.

“Let me fight them.” Abby said, walking towards the angels.

“Excuse me, are you taking volunteers?”Abby asked one of the angels.

“Yes, but first, what is your name?” said the other.

“Abby” she said shyly.

“Ok. Let’s fight” the two angels said in unison. A few seconds later, the two angels were lying down on the ground. It happened as if it were all but a dream. Abby had flown up into the air; her white wings flapping elegantly against the wind. She dove down towards the angels spinning, as if she were a tornado. As soon as she was about to hit the ground she suddenly stopped in midair causing a strong breeze that knocked the two angels on the ground.

“What just happened?” Liam asked with a dazed look.

“I have no clue, but I think we found one of the allies we need to fight in the war with us.” Roze explained. Liam and Roze thought it would be best if the three of them went to dinner to talk.

“So you're telling me I'm one of the guardian angels? Well, I’m sorry to tell you this, but I'm not a guardian; I'm an idiot,”Abby replied to Roze.

“But did you not see the way you fought? It was amazing! I’ve never seen anything like it before!” Liam told her. The first nice and non-sarcastic thing he has said for ages on end.

“Thanks? I guess…” she responded to Liam, suddenly being nice.

Abby has to join us! I’m sure she is one of the guardian angels. God help her find her true self please, Roze prayed.

“Well, if you don’t believe you're the guardian angel at least join us,” Roze said. She put on her most happiest smile ever like she was begging for something.

“I will be obliged to join you guys.” Abby said smiling. The party stopped talking when a waiter came by asking if they were ready to order. Roze found out that Liam had a big appetite. After they were done eating Roze and Liam walked out of the restaurant leaving Abby inside to go to the bathroom. “Roze….?” Liam asked nervously.

“Yeah”, she said. “I…. li….” he said, being interrupted by Abby.

“I am back,” she said.

“Oh great, hey Abby.” Roze said a little nervous about what Liam was about to say. The next thing after that, Liam took Roze’s hand and held it by his side making sure that Abby didn't see what Liam had done, to his surprise she didn't let go. Roze looked at Liam and noticed that he was smiling for the first time.

“Whats going on between you two? Why is he smiling and you? Roze?...why do you keep staring at him like some deranged hawk?” Abby said without taking a breath.

“Gosh, why don’t you shut up and let her stare at me hm… don’t you think I'm hot too.” Liam reported back to her. “No,because I don’t date delinquents,” she said.

“Rozes are red, violets are blue, Abby is sweet but Roze is cool.” Liam recited.

Both Roze and Abby looked at him. Abby leaned into Roze’s ear and whispered, “What are we going to do with that delinquent boyfriend of yours?”

“First, he is not my boyfriend. Second, I have no clue,” she replied.

Liam looked at them with a confused look. “What did I do?” he said innocently. Liam stepped towards Roze and closed his eyes then leaned forward almost kissing her. Roze started blushing while her mind was racing everywhere.

What is he trying to do? Why is he so close to me. Roze thought to herself.

“Do you think I'm just a delinquent or more?” Liam whispered softly in her ear making sure Abby had not heard.

“No, I don’t think so,” Roze said confused. What did he mean by more? Her head started pounding. Then Roze walked off not even caring whether or not the two of them followed.

“Where are you going Roze?” Liam yelled after her.

“You can't leave us!”Abby screamed. Roze didn’t care because she was blushing at the thought of Liam. She didn’t understand why. They caught up to Roze and started walking with her.

A few minutes later they found themselves standing in front of a convenience store. It was small and old. They walked inside, it was covered in spider webs and there was paint chipping off the walls. The small room smelled musty, and had this eerie feeling, like there was a dead body inside the room, decaying away. At the sight and smell of this little convenience store, Roze, Abby, and Liam all knew that there was something in here.

“Guys do you hear that?” Roze asked concerned. Then as right on cue the team heard a soft shuffling of feet. Next they heard something growling. They saw a half wolf, half man, with his whole head looking like a wolf’s head. Kinda looked like a demon. He had hairy legs with a bare chest. The sight of him made Roze and Abby cry and scream, but Liam wanted to fight him.

Liam stepped towards the dog and said, “You want to fight me dog man well you're in luck cause I know karate and I also know I will kick the crap out of you.” He grabs a bow staff which was just where he needed a bow staff. Liam started to spin the bow staff and then as he was spinning it he whacked the wolf man in the stomach. Roze and Abby watched in awe at how well Liam fought the wolf man. All of them were speechless.  All they did was watch Liam kick the living little life out of him. A few minutes later the wolf man was tied to a chair and was getting the guts punched out of him.

“Stop, please, my master told me to come kill you before you went any further,” the wolf demon cried.

“What do you mean by master?” Liam asked using a kitchen knife he found, he threatened the wolf demon not to do anything stupid.

“Remind me never to get him mad….” Roze whispered to Abby.

“Yeah, I will…” she said stuttering.

The two of them flinched when Liam took the knife and slit the wolf man's throat and chopped off the head. Liam threw it at Roze causing her to scream. He took his shirt off because it was splattered with blood.

“What?” he questioned after noticing that Roze was blushing and staring at him.

“Uh…. erm… well I, just nevermind.” Roze rambled.

“Well then stop staring .” Liam said with a smile.

“Yes sir.” Roze whispered as she bowed her head towards the ground still blushing. He had hard muscles and, oh my gosh, she couldn't help but stare. What was she thinking to just stare like that Roze thought to herself.

“So… you do like me. I knew it. If you think I’m cute, then why don’t you just say so.” Liam interjected Rozes thoughts.

“You can read my thoughts!” she screamed out loud.

“Wait, what?” Abby said, who was totally confused considering she had fainted when Liam threw the head at Rozelle.

“Well, duh, I thought you knew already, dumbo.” he said as he walked towards Roze. Still without a t-shirt on, he leaned forward causing Roze to hit a wall. He held her hands up against the wall.

“What is he doing?” she thought.

“I'm going to….” He said letting her guess.

“Yes…..?” Roze asked nervously. “You are truly amazing and beautiful.” Liam whispered in her ear then walked away smiling. “What just happened?”, she thought, Roze started blushing like crazy, her whole face was red. Roze and Abby walked with Liam out of the convenience store.

They walked for hours on end. Roze had noticed that the trees would sway back and forth because of the wind was passing through. There were flowers covering the path, red roses. Liam picked one up and walked in between Abby and Roze, talking about when they return to earth they would go shopping. Roze looked at Liam confused as he was holding out the rose.

“Just like you, they’re pretty and fragile.” he said.

Roze started to blush like crazy, “Did he read my mind again,” she thought out loud.

“Yes, I did,” Liam said, smiling.
