A Hero

What is a hero? It is an individual of desired aptitude or a person who has achieved an accomplishment worth recognition. In society we idolize these hero’s we want to become like them, think like them. Yet the entire time that they stand in this dignified light we are shackled into their shadow, forced to only watch from a distance until we can gain our own advantage over the rest of society. By explaining it like this couldn’t a hero be seen as a modern day slave runner? Why don’t we as individuals try our hardest to instead of putting a single person above ourselves, try to change our self and become the best that we as humans can truly be. Why are we unable to all do our very best to achieve incredible feats? Can’t we not try hard and become the very people we put up on a pedestal, if the world were to change it’s way of thinking couldn’t we all at some point become our own hero’s and then wouldn’t the world itself begin to be seen in a brighter light? While people’s actions should be learned from, and gratitude should be shown to those who achieve excellence, the way things are now our actions are only seen as temporary and soon forgotten. They quickly fade away from memory to never again be heard from or mentioned in the future to come. Why do we choose a self-destructive way of living over one that could possibly be more beneficial to everyone as a whole? A hero should be, I think a group or a family who thrive by following their own moral examples, thus demonstrating a way of living for others to follow rather than a spontaneous feat of excellence that wow’s some random crowd. I am an individual, a person who rather than following another’s example chooses to set my own rules in life, I am not a hero nor do I choose to become one. I only wish to be all that I can become, and never let anyone or any title, diagnosis or barrier prevent me from doing all I want to in life. I have no idols or people who I follow in an attempt to gain some monetary form of approval from my own made up GOD. I only ever try, if I am to fail then I will pick myself up and continue onward.
What is a hero? This is the question I give to you.

This one I should say as an article you wrote, I think there should be a section to write that as well.An excellent topic discussed so well.I totally agree one should have insight in whatever we do.Idolizing someone is not bad if really they are worth of ..you know one thing I get inspired by the smallest creatures around us.And I am against of idolised actors and actresses or idolise get people from show biz.But you know I am so proud of you Tim...you are really someone to look upon..and view life from a different angle. My applause for a great write..keep shining...Tim..Hope you get all happiness in life..
cheers...
Thank you so much, I go to a school were a large population of the school views rappers as gods and not even the ideal rappers or the famous ones, but the ones that only have fame for liek a month or so and psew crap about abusing women, and getting rich from selling off their girlfriends or belittling others. I wrote this because it pains me to see them following these people who have truly fallen from an idealalistic light.
Wow Tim I salute you ..
