"In a moment of heartbreak" By Ben Goode (c) 2014

Dallas had driven her car into a ditch on the side of a coastal road deliberately.Β
It was night, and there was a nasty storm and heavy rain.Β
Dallas crawled out of her drivers door window unhurt.Β
She had worn a beautiful formal dress which was now partly torn.Β
Her raven black hair became saturated quickly and her eyes bled mascara.
She cried deep sobs of anguish and sorrow, distraught and seemingly heartbroken.Β
She ran across the highway and across a grassy hill, which she knew led up to a high headland overlooking the sea.
She reached the cliff's peak. And stood on the edge, in silence.
Normally it held a beautiful view, but it was now very much a dark, and foreboding place.Β
The ocean beyond, was barely moonlit by a crescent moon. But Dallas was not alone in this place.
A young man dressed in black was already sitting on the same cliff not far away.Β
Suicidal thoughts had plagued him for hours, as he contemplated what he was going to do next.
His feet dangled off the edge precariously, as he watched Dallas silently.
Dallas didn't appear to see him at first. He looked at her like he wished she did.
Dallas fell to her knees and screamed as loud as she could, and cried out "It isn't fair!" countless times.
"No its not.." the young man whispered to himself. "I know how you feel.."
Dallas stopped, she had somehow heard what he said, and turned to face him.Β
She had taken on a very different, and malevolent ghostly form.Β
The young man stood up quickly, as Dallas came closer and spoke to him, in a very adamant and spine tingling voice.Β
"I know why you're here, but you must leave here now and never return!"Β
"Who are you? And what the hell is it to you that I'm here or not?" The young man asked boldly.
"Take your life here, and your moment of heartbreak will be eternal!" Dallas replied just before she jumped off the edge of the cliff, into nothingness.Β
Other ghostly forms also appeared, they were peppered everywhere at the cliff's edge, and did the same thing. It seemed the place was cursed by the misery of others, crying, screaming. And leaping to their death. Over and over, in a loop of spiritual torment.
Shocked by the sight, the young man ran away, as quickly as his legs could carry him, and he stumbled a couple of times as he did. He bolted across the highway heading home, and had narrowly missed being hit by a car which seemed to deliberately crash into a ditch.

So Dallas's eternal loop of torment had begun again.
It was night and there was a nasty storm and heavy rain. Dallas crawled out of her drivers door window unhurt. She had worn a beautiful formal dress which was now partly torn...
But this time she stopped and smiled, seeing the young man had not shared her fate.
