Insight Vs. Incite

Incite: encourage or stir up (violent or unlawful behavior).

Insight: an understanding of the motivational forces behind one's actions, thoughts, or behavior; self-knowledge.

Incite and insight. They both sound the same but have very different meanings. Incite is chaotic. It knows what it's going to do; it's going to do no good. It's going to muck up the world around it and then disappear midair. 

Insight, however, is neutral good. To have insight is to be prepared and aware. It knows people, but whereas incite gets under your skin, insight gets into your mind. 

But are they that different? Don't you need insight to incite? One would assume; but when has an incite ever been insightful? The only similarity between them is that they both run on actions, or at least partly so in insight's case. 

They're like good and evil; God raging above with insight into every human's innermost thoughts. Satan below, inciting chaos in the wake of our beliefs and ideals. 

So insight and incite, they're as different as night and day. A noun and a verb. Heaven and Hell. Another general metaphor. But what I haven't told you is that you can use insight to stop incite. Be aware and have perspective. Understand people, get close to people. Recognize things as civil and uncivil. You may just stop something horrible. You may just stop someone from inciting devastation.
