KERALA FESTIVAL OF NOVEMBER

KERALA FESTIVAL OF NOVEMBER

Kerala is emerging as a national role model for its exceptional achievements in development. Keraleeyam is a significant initiative aimed at showcasing Kerala’s progress to the world, a state that takes immense pride in its accomplishments across diverse sectors, including public administration, healthcare, agricultural prosperity, women’s empowerment, law and order, and education, among others. From November 1st to 7th, 2023, Keraleeyam will embark on a comprehensive mission to unveil the remarkable journey of Kerala’s development and accomplishments spanning the past seven decades. The ultimate goal of Keraleeyam is to shape a new Kerala characterized by excellence, fostering socio-economic prosperity across the state, promoting sustainable development in all sectors, and crafting forward-looking development policies.

Keraleeyam, viewed through the lens of an artist, is a captivating tapestry of cultural and artistic expression. It unfolds over seven days in the enchanting embrace of Kerala, India, from the first of November to the seventh, much like the blooming of a poetic flower. This festival is a sanctuary for artists and a playground for creativity.
Within its boundaries, Keraleeyam welcomes dancers, musicians, and actors, encompassing a wealth of talent, over many  artists across the state. Their performances tell the tales of tradition and innovation, forming a harmonious blend that resonates with the heart and soul of Kerala. The festival is an artist's dream, where every stroke of the brush and every word of a poem find their place.
The festival is not just a celebration of culture; it is also a platform for knowledge and innovation. International seminars and symposiums spark discussions about Kerala's future and its focus areas, attracting academics, intellectuals, and subject experts. Meanwhile, art installations curated by renowned teams transport spectators through time, telling stories of historical events.
Many kerala style schemes takes center stage, with four venues dedicated to showcasing coir, bamboo, cooperative society products, women's creations, and agricultural offerings. The food stalls present a culinary adventure, led by top chefs and home cooks, introducing the richness of Kerala's cuisine. The theme of promoting millets as part of the International Year of Millets and millet-based dishes adds an ecological touch to the festival.
Six venues become a canvas for Kerala's unique flora, with themes like an exotic flower show, a fruit tree festival, and displays of Ayurvedic herbs. Film theaters become windows to the Malayalam cinema world, with 140 curated films and 30 international documentaries. The Kerala Niyamasabha, transformed into a literary hall, showcases over 5,000 books, creating an environment where poetry and art flourish.
Keraleeyam is not merely an event; it's an immersion in the culture, heritage, and creativity that make Kerala a true gem. From the artist's perspective, it's a canvas of inspiration, a symphony of emotions, and a literary journey that sparks the soul.
