Letting Life Go

When you feel broken down, like the weight of the world is cracking your poor bones, let it out. If you have to cry, cry! Think of all the reasons you have to be sad, every part of that situation that gives you that sinking feeling in your stomach, like an ill-fated ship among stormy waters. And let the tears flow. But not for long. Don't let yourself get caught up in your demise. For that is where self-pity comes from. Get it out, brush it off, set your shoulders, and move on. Because the time for sadness has passed. Now think of all the reasons you have to be grateful. Why you're grateful for that ache in your back, for the judgement in those people's eyes, for the struggle in your family. Because these are the things that let you enjoy the fact that you can feel, the fact that you don't have to care what those people think, and the fact that you do have a family, when so many people don't.Ā
