Life and Astrology

By Yiyan Han (c), 2020-11-06
There are 12 animal symbols in the Chinese zodiac, each attributing to a Chinese lunar year in a repeating 12-year cycle. For example, this very year 2020 is the Year of Rat. Ah, rat! Plague! How could anyone forget the year 2019-2020? Interestingly, the Western astrology also has 12 symbols, each attributing to a month in a repeating 12-month cycle. I am not an expert on any of these, nor I want to compare the two systems. However, I find itâs really fascinating that astrology is somewhat relevant to my daily life.
I came across astrology by chance some some years ago, but Iâm not a devoted fan. Thereâs no contradiction to me, and, in my opinion, one doesnât have to be a fan even if finding something or somebody is exciting or musing. What I say that astrology is somewhat relevant to my daily life is based on my own real life stories. For example, in an August some time ago, when I was sort of looking for a new job, Susan Millerâs Astrology said that there was a narrow window opportunity of finding a job for my sign, and I should keep my phone ringing. Here we are, there was one coming up, so I phoned the employer. Surprise surprise, I got the job!
Okay okay, you may say, the above example was just a coincidence. Oh yeah, how about that is for my whole lifetime's happiness? My own small family consists of air and fire signs. This is a perfect harmony as far as astrology is concerned, so Iâm very happy! Please check upon your family then, and don't blame me if something is wrong.
Letâs have fun with some of astrology signs:
When air mixes with another air, it should be a lifetime long affair.
When fire meets air, Aha! you can do whatever you dare.
What if air blows on the earth? Well youâd know the truth.
Whether or not water has fun with air, it all depends if you both care!
A list below shows all signs with their element, copied from internet, and I reckon itâs worth having a look if someone is seeking relationship.
- Spring Air (wetâhot): Gemini, Libra, Aquarius
- Summer Fire (hotâdry): Aries, Leo, Sagittarius
- Autumn Earth (dryâcold): Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn
- Winter Water (coldâwet): Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces

You get a vote for the sheer entertainment of the write Yiyan...enjoyed đ¤
O! Disappointed just "for the sheer entertainment" ;-)> Just joking.
Astrology is a pseudoscience as many say, but science can't answer the life's meaning. My writing certainly has very truth in it, fun but true!
Yes, I didn't mean to insult...just meant I enjoyed the read. The jury is out for me on astrology....who knows?? We are birthed by the stars and the moon has power over us...the sun gives us life so....who.knows Yiyan??? đ¤
You know, Marion, it's just a teasing! Thought you'd be very excited after reading this little piece ;))
A very interesting write Yiyan. I love the poem in the middle. I am a pig according to the Chinese zodiac, I'm married to a dragon and my stepson is a rat đ.
Take care - SydÂ
Thank you very much, Syd. Pig and rat are good together though rat has a little advantage ;) , and pig is a loyal friend if treated nicely! Not sure about dragon that usually is a dominant zodiac. Have you checked on astrology signs which I find pretty fit :)
