Dear Diary #287 Margot Needs.

Margot drinks from a glass half full. Snug on the sofa, she’s curled into herself drifting towards…I don’t know where, I never have, it’s a place only she goes. Her favourite nightshirt has slipped from her shoulder revealing the tattoo she got when she was just 15; her first, but not last foray into rebellion and recklessness. She hasn’t spoken for hours and neither have I moved from the rug. So long, that the wood burner only holds ash and embers, and it’s flame-like the light in her eyes-has gone out. I imagine her silence is a comforting place for her, but for me, it’s torturous. Not all the time as I know she has the need, and needs must be met, but still…when she’s gone, so am I.
