*Message For All Teens*

Ladies and gentlemen, please do not feel obligated to get involved in relationships during your high school career. I am not another parent lecturing you, I am close to your age. I am a sixteen-year-old who is well-liked by her peers. I am not considered weird or indifferent from not involving myself in a relationship.  

The truth is, we're all too young. Not mentally young but physically young. You could be the wisest person in your school and believe you're ready for a relationship, but the truth is, you have your whole life to get caught up in love-struck relationships. Please take this time to truly get to know yourself. Find your hobbies and work for them. Show the world what you're made of at such an appropriate age! 

Being committed to a relationship takes up a lot of energy! Energy that both you and your partner are exchanging. While being in a relationship you may lose yourself. You may give up your dreams for your so-called "significant other". You may not do the things you love because you are brainwashed into being involved with your boyfriend/girlfriend.

Being in a relationship at such a young age comes with arduous heartbreak. Many parents may not understand this factor. But at this age, hormones are raging, drama is everywhere, and emotions tend to be stronger than ever. This is just yet again, another reason not to get yourself involved. You are developing at this age and you are grasping onto whatever life is giving you. Once older, you will look back and regret the relationships you were involved in. You will regret having sex with the guy/girl in high school. You will regret much more than just sex.

Life is only beginning. You may feel that you are invincible, and you are! You are invincible by working towards your goals and becoming a better person each and every day. You are invincible by building others up and not tearing them down, and lastly, you will be SOOOO much more invincible by being independent for a little while longer!!
