"My theory of Dracula" by Ben Goode 2012 (c)

My understanding of Dracula: Dracula an immortal no I don't think so.
I think he was just experienced and wise. A man of he world, sailing from place to place.
A mysterious European with an accent, is an ideal man to many women. Rich and powerful, but misunderstood and envied by others.
As for the vampires heart, I think that that weakness was always meant to be symbolic or iconic if you will.
The vampires roots, the source of power which lies within.
I believe that it was never meant to be a stake to the heart, it was an actual emotional heartbreak which is like a stake to the heart.
Dracula is a romantic, an ideal man to women, he seduces them which to them might feel like he's taking their blood or a part of their very being away.
Dracula is a passionate man who knows where all the right spots are, like the neck of a woman.
She lets herself be vulnerable to him, be submissive to his will and she explains it away as if she was hypnotized, too proud to admit she has been overcome.
She enjoys his lovemaking and then breaks his heart which kills him because he loved her.
Makes sense doesn't it? Why would Dracula seduce his prey before he ate it?
A lion pounces onto it's prey and crushes it's throat.
Predatory behavior in humans has no love, it has lust, hatred and disregard for life. Dracula has feelings, he values life because he isn't alive, he wants to be.
And the only way he can feel alive is to be with a woman, who can argue with that?
Dracula is feared by man as he is the best man, the one who can impress the woman, he is a threat, a monster to other men, but a lover of the best quality to women. Jealousy can kill, let's hunt the vampire down and kill it! Jealous men in hordes invade Dracula's domain to execute the only decent man in a small town.
Let's use a cross or holy water to scare him, which represents religion.
Religion rules, he must abide by it, he is a rebel.
Lets convince him he is wrong. Oh and the garlic yes, it's like bad body odor to Dracula who is well groomed and smells good.
Who wouldn't be repulsed by bad body odor caused by cooking with garlic, and villagers who reek of it from being un-bathed.
Dracula wouldn't understand or tolerate that, if he looks after himself why can't anyone else?
That's my take on it anyway. All mythical monsters are usually misunderstood and/or exaggerated creatures or people.
Stan Lee's Hulk is just a man who is passionate too, he gets furious when he's been screwed over.
We turn into our own monsters in fury. When someone doesn't like your attitude they call you a bitch or a bastard, but you're not are you?
You are acting like it maybe, but you go back to the way you were. Melinda who is grumpy on Mondays, is more positive on a Friday aren't you?
Moods, feelings, beliefs, principles, morals, and our outlook of life are like modes or versions of ourselves, and I think that's where most mythology comes from.
