IS NASHIVILLE WRONG? Judge my work

I am constantly submitting lyrics to Nashville for review. Here are the comments I received for the following song what do you think?

Song:

FEAR AND LOVE

Retired man turning in his lotto for a chance at the big time
Homeless women begs change for a chance, as stated on her sign
The music mechanic writes his love songs for a manic world
Desperate lovers give it one last go, hearts fully unfurledĀ
You say you're afraid and it ain't of organized crime
Least we got each other, 'cause you can't feel fear and love at the same timeĀ

We prove ourselves for this love all night
There ain't no convincing the world but it's alright
I'll take my chances against cupid's arrow, to not walk that single lineĀ
You can't feel fear and love at the same timeĀ

I'm diving in but I don't know the depth
I'm going to simply not have the regret
You're jumping off without a shoot
Forecast says rain, baby where's your boots?
You're trying coconut cake, when you really like key limeĀ
It's ok baby, 'cause you can't feel fear and love at the same time

We prove ourselves for this love all our lives
There ain't no convincing this world but it's alright
I'll take my chances on cupid's arrow, never gonna walk a single line
Wise man said "You can't feel fear and love at the same time"

Review:

Anthony,

I've had a chance to review your lyric. I find the hook "you can't feelĀ
love and fear at the same time" to be untrue. I think you can as mostĀ
times when you love someone fear comes with it...fear of losing them. IĀ
think perhaps most people would think this as well. Hence a fundamentalĀ
problem with the song. Also, some lines seem to come out of nowhere andĀ
don't add or make sense in the song like "You're trying coconut cake,Ā
when you really like key lime" or "You say you're afraid and it ain't ofĀ
organized crime".

Anthony,

Opportunity of gaine, is your key aspect of this song, Ā yet
(Nashville), tends to relish loosing something throughout the lyrics of all of
their songs, i.e.(with no disrespect
intended) because I love all forms of music and is more than one dimensional.
(I lost my love ,my car, favorite dog, home)and receives not the opportunity to
acquire a new. Just as he,(the advisor) illustrated the lost, are fear of losing
love when they should of, (just as we all do)have dwelled on the gain of a love
and the fear of being loved are the fear to give love. Nashville as usual,
rather loose and accept the lost and the hurt, that accompanies it, rather than
gain and acceptĀ the fear of giving back are holding on to. They appear to
be one dimensional and you dear sir, have added dimensions to your lyrics, that
they need to catch up with. Theirs are the lyrics of the past and yours are
those of the future..It’s not you and yours, it is them and their one track
minded thinking..Place your lyrics in the eyes ofĀ the today generation and see to whom
version of acceptance would win out hands down,(YOURS). Ā It is
time to take the music from the hands of the past artist and advisers Ā and
let the future artist ,(such as yourself) and advisors, pick up where they(the old)
should now leave off. You will then receive a multicultural listening audience,
that will allow Country music to take wings and fly, rather than break them and
forever be grounded, too one conglomeration of listener audiences and writers. Country
music, (just as all other music), comes in more colors than
justĀ one.....Your music is of all listeners, do not be dis-swayed and
continue your endeavors, sooner are later, someone will be smart enough,(just
as yourself) and take the ball that you have to offerĀ and run with it..

Kindest,

Jim Ā
