Party Time (R.T.Lynch)

Prologue
“AAAAHHHH!” a scream rang out in the dark, as a small girl slowly got dragged under the floorboards by the ankle. The girl stammered, ‘Help me, help me.’ The creature squealed, ‘Come and play with me, hahaha! Do you like partiiiiiieeeesss? I do. Harharharharhar!
Chapter 1
Haydn, Riley and Sam where having a sleepover while their parents had been on vacation. Their house was on top of a hill far away from the city. They had heard the local news on their radio about kids going missing in the dead of night. And its only happened in houses with floorboards. The next day at school they went straight to the library to research all human eating creatures. They found only one book, but they had no idea which creature it was, so they learnt about them all, but they decided to see what it actually was. They went to ask their friend Juliana to help and they gathered materials and supplies before they headed there. One dark night, at midnight, all the boys were in bed. Juliana decided to pretend to go to the fridge. As she walked, she heard a creak in the floorboards and called for the boys. She saw a wrinkled, frail, dirty hand reach out from underneath the floorboards. That instant, the boys all lifted the floorboard up to get pulled in instead. As they were ripped underground their heads smacked against the rock wall knocking the unconscious.
Chapter 2

When they woke it was dark and gloomy the silence broken by the drops of water falling from the stalactites. Through the darkness red eyes move around them like there dancing when all of a sudden, the room lights up with a torch revealing anybody worst nightmare. Toothless heads of children are tied to strings like balloons floating  . Popcorn buckets filled with teeth and cups of blood fill the table and in the centre a cake that looked as though it had been made with the organs. The terrified boys ran and tried to find Juliana. Throughout the maze of a cave they heard scattering like rats when they look up, they realize it`s the Demented looking princess. Her head turned upside down at stared at them with her glowing red eyes and she smiled with rows of razor-sharp teeth circling back to her throat blood dripping from each of them.  
“Leeeeaaaving so soooon? But party is just startingggg! BY the way my name is Lucina do want to be my friend?”
Stumbling back over their feet the boys crawled back up to their feet and ran.
Chapter 3
On the other side of the cave Juliana found a dark room in the wall with the torch she found lit the room to see a closets full of children’s clothes. she scavenged for materials only to find a box of matches. So, she put it in her pocket and tried to find the others.
The boys found a crack in the wall and hid inside, once Lucina passed, they got out and kept looking for Juliana. They searched for what seemed like hours to eventually run into her.
“Juliana” Riley yelled.
“Is that you, where are the others,” Juliana replied.
“There here.”
“Hey,” Sam and Haydn yelled in unison.
Soon they discussed how to escape after what they had seen.
“We must get help when we get back like a S.W.A.T or army team,” Sam said.
Chapter 4
Making their way through the dark and damp dungeons, Riley, Sam, Juliana and Haydn were so busy discussing the plan that they didn’t see the swift shadows of Lucina trailing them by scent. Then suddenly, when the four friends fell silent, Juliana noticed a monstrous shadow of a demented princess pulling her head up and howling. Everyone stopped. The group looked at one another. Then, they ran. They didn’t care how long they ran as long as they got away from Lucina. So, Riley ran right. Sam ran left. Haydn climbed up a pole. Juliana crouched down behind a microwave. ‘Wait a minute…  a microwave? Down here in the sewers?’ Thought Juliana. ‘That doesn’t seem right…’ she turned and came face to face with another creature- toad-like, red bumps over its back and its mouth lined with jagged teeth.
She let out a shriek. “AHHHH!”
The voice of Lucina floated through the hallways, echoing. “I see you’ve met my pet and my microwave. Good… good…. You guys are making this party fun!”
Haydn, Riley and Sam ran from their hiding spots to help Juliana, who was now backed up against the wall as Lucina’s pet took another hop towards her. Riley grabbed the closest thing that could act as a self defence weapon he could find- which happened to be a hammer from Haydn’s tool belt. Haydn was dragged towards Riley as Riley wrenched the hammer off the belt and hit the toad. Sam quickly pulled the matches from Juliana’s pocket and lit them causing the toad to retreat. The group of friends saw what they had done and cheered. In the celebration with high fives and hugs, they had forgotten about Lucina until they heard her.
“Celebrated too soon, did youuuuu?” she said with a devilish grin.
And that was the last thing they heard before being knocked out cold.
Chapter 5
Groggily, Sam, Juliana and Haydn opened their eyes. They all looked around and saw that they were locked in a stone cell. There was a rat’s nest in the corner of the cell and cockroaches crawled everywhere. Then suddenly, Sam noticed something.
“Hey guys, where’s Riley!?” He said frantically.
Juliana and Haydn snapped right awake.
“You mean, he’s not in here with us?” Haydn asked weakly.
“The games are just ssstarting I could not let you go” a voice came that was not Sam’s, Juliana nor Haydn’s.
Suddenly, Juliana gasped. Sam and Haydn turned to look at where her shaking hand was pointing. Lucina was holding Riley up by the collar of his shirt, her black sunken eyes looking at them. Riley looked at them and gave them a tired smile showing the matches he held so that they were only visible to his friends.
“Thanks guys and remember me.”
It quickly dawned on the friends that he was going to burn himself. They all yelled out at once.
“Don’t do it, Riley!”
“You can’t!”
“Please, Riley, don’t!”

Lucina laughed. “HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! You think you can stop me? I don’t think so!!!!”
The friends locked in the cell couldn’t watch. Juliana turned and began sobbing, Haydn buried his face in his hands and Sam was shaking the bars of the cell. And suddenly, they heard the sounds of flames roaring, a shout of pain from Riley and the sound of Lucina burning reached their ears. As Lucina burned, the curse of the cell was broken and Juliana, Sam and Haydn got out and ran to Riley’s side.
They had killed a monster but lost the life of a friend.
Epilogue
At the hospital the three friends cried as the machine stopped beeping and the line went flat.
“Is this really the end,” Juliana sobbed
“He is gone isn’t he, for real this time,” Sam cried
“We haven’t even graduated school yet.”
Now drenched in tears Riley lay on the bed still. Then the machine started to beep again, their faces lit up as they heard the noise. Riley slowly opened his eyes.
 “Did you miss me?” Riley stammered weakly.
Juliana still crying punched him square in the side of the arm.
“Don’t you ever scare me like that again,” she said still with watery eyes
“Welcome back buddy,” said Sam
