Poet:
Lopamudra Mishra
Poem:
The Song
I don’t know how and when you became the song
Stirring me daylong
I can’t imagine, how the bits of my pieces
Got acquainted to your norms
I started to write songs
I started to sing the melody of magic dawn
I started to live in the world of dreams
I often compare you with the stars
Shining and smiling
Bright and beautiful
Smart and incongruent
These touched my core
My songs poured
One after another
Sweet to sweeter
When I look at the mirror
I see my glow
The spark in my eyes say
To remove the specs
Because the songs illuminated my spark
I visualize the brightness everywhere
In between I feel you are there.

POETIC VIEWS:
Lopamudra Mishra's "The Song" is a captivating journey through the realms of love, seamlessly blending the lyrical beauty of poetry with a profound emotional resonance. The poem unfolds like a melodic composition, where the poet expresses a profound connection with an indescribable force that has become a song, resonating within the depths of her being. The metaphorical exploration of the poet's connection to this ineffable "song" becomes a powerful vehicle for conveying the transformative nature of love. Mishra skillfully weaves words into a tapestry of emotions, depicting the enchantment that love brings to one's life. The poet reflects on the subtle yet profound changes within, as the fragments of her existence harmonize with the norms of this enchanting melody.
The imagery employed is vivid and evocative, particularly in the comparison of the beloved to stars—shining, smiling, and incongruent, touching the core of the poet's being. The celestial metaphor adds a celestial quality to the verses, enhancing the romantic and mystical essence of the poem. The progression of the poem from the initial discovery of the transformative power of love to the outward manifestation of that change is beautifully depicted. The speaker not only writes songs and sings melodies but experiences a metamorphosis in her own reflection. The metaphorical removal of the spectacles signifies a clarity of vision, a newfound awareness brought about by the luminosity of the songs. The poem culminates in a sense of pervasive brightness, as the speaker envisions the radiance everywhere and senses the presence of the beloved amidst the glow. Mishra masterfully captures the magic of love, rendering it as a force that not only illuminates the poet's inner world but radiates outward, transforming the very fabric of reality.
