• Genie Out of The Bottle

Raised in an environment of repression
Escape from my cage became obsession
Like being stranded alone on a desert isle
Isolated in the world with a forced smile

( In a situation restrictive of actions, a repressive regime, or in an overly strict and inhibiting discipline. Like an escape from the non-freedom of a cage or just like held-up in a lonely, isolated desert island )

Then you found me, dusted off my course sand
Changed my desert shipwreck to a promised land
Like a genie released out of a corked bottle
You gave me freedom, expressed in full throttle

( Alluring words and lines of a highly romantic imaginary like changing a wrecked ship, smoothly taken towards the land of promises, same like  Something has been brought into reality that cannot be eliminated or undone )

Before, I circled on an endless camel ride
Shuffling through sands, convinced I had to hide
Tucked away, well contained, unmoved, unshaken
Then you stirred me up good, my release unmistaken

(In fact from the beginning on, we still love to come to enjoy the company, simple life, the drive through the Sands, meeting lovely people, lots of kindness, and whatever more one can imagine, most of the times welcomed)

So much unexplored, and so much to achieve
A new view of life, a reason to believe
Your love offers promise to live free and alive
Your body – my oasis, with pleasures to derive

(Geographically, an oasis is an isolated area of vegetation in a desert area typically surrounding a  spring or similar water source. Oases also provide habitat for animals and even humans if the area is big enough.  Here, the Poetess depicts the human mind and body similar to that of an oasis)

A beautiful escape found in paradise eyes
Your tropical island painted me a sunrise
With vibrant hues to color over our past
In a passionate love affair meant to last

( A painting, depicting a paradise with a sunrise and reminiscence of  a past passionate or blissful  love affair-Beautiful imaginary )

With open arms, I welcome love’s endeavor
This genie is out of her bottle, forever
Ready for a ride on your magic carpet
Goodbye desert, I’m diving in to get wet

( When we  say that the genie is out of the bottle or that someone has let the genie out of the bottle, you mean that something has happened which has made a great and permanent change in people's lives, this can be either good or worst )

The word genie means a spirit with magic powers in ancient Arabian adventurous stories. Poetess Cherie Sumner's Poem is fabulous in two ways, It has an ancient touch of a desert theme which is superb along with a romantic narration instinct, well depicted, In old Arabian stories, a genie was a magic spirit that would do whatever the person who controlled it wanted. Something has been brought into reality that cannot be eliminated or undone.

This poem is well crafted in beauty with a magical expression of pure love and narrated with symbolic signaling of an escape to a love life. The poetess always likes go back to her passionate love poems since love is the biggest release to freedom.
