BY CHERIE SUMNER

When our distance hangs heavy on me with despair
I picture lilac and lavender flowers in my hair
And you are the one who gently placed them there
For a tropical wind to waft sweet fragrance in the air

(By this, Poetess Cherie Leigh Sumner is bringing high romantic imaginary and excellent rhymes in the above stanza. How nice and romantic the lines ! Lilac is the name of the flower after which this color has been named. It is actually light violet in shade, and the Poetess is visualize the picture of lilac and lavender followers in the hair, So romantic, so poetic, My applause to the great poetess of Love Cherie Sumner)

I imagine a hammock set between coconut trees
We cuddle up in the shade of a cool ocean breeze
Your touch is alluring with bedroom eyes that tease
They hint when night falls you give passion to please

(Being touched and touching someone else are fundamental modes of human interaction, and increasingly, many people are seeking out their own life experiences, a touch makes a big difference in human life. And some even wait in physicians’ offices for a physical examination for ailments that have no organic cause—they wait to be touched. Here the touch becomes alluring and the bed room eyes tease them)

Lilac and lavender, the color of my flowing dress
When you hold me close to you like this, I confess
I imagine you undressing me with a soft caress
Your romantic bedside manner set to impress

( Lilac and lilac are names of flowers that are also used to indicate very similar shades of light purple. In this stanza, the Poetess is depicting the colors of flowing dress and while they embrace, both whispers words of love, and while undressing they narrate in a language know to them in an impressive way)

We dance the night away; I cherish your strong hand
Clasped tightly in mine as we listen to the band
After several sultry kisses, I hope you understand
The desire you spark in me is more than I can stand

(We all have our own fashion style, but did you realize your choice of colors may actually reveal more about you than just your tastes or that the colors you wear may even affect your moods. It is now an accepted truth that color can be used to stimulate or inhibit certain behaviors)

Lying upon inviting lilac and lavender bed sheets
We consummate our love, with burning body heat
An addictive passion, all night - replay and repeat
As exhaustion claims us, neither one admits defeat

(Addiction and passion are different, from the standpoint of  a lover, is the awareness that one is engaged in an healthy passion and love compulsive behavior)

Oh, lilac and lavender, sweet aroma of dreams
My soothing reverie in gorgeous color schemes
Take me to my beloved; sail purple hazed streams
Bridge aching distance; reconcile us in real themes

(Exposure to sweet and pleasant aromas while sleeping can affect your dreams positively, while a bad odor can have a negative impact, but a gorgeous color schemes will contribute for more love and lust in life)

Though, I am colorblind, and as my beloved better half says, being a lover of colors, that there are many dissimilar shades between the colors violet and purple. Lavender and lilac are two such shades that have been confusing a lot of people. These are shades that have been very popular in various areas of human life, like fabrics used for dress materials and also for fabrics used for furnishing. The shades are very similar to each other being described as purplish blue by most people.

Lilac is the name of the flower after which this color has been named. It is actually light violet in shade. Pale violet is a true reflection of the color of these flowers though some people also refer to this color as light purple. Even in this range of light purple, there are sub shades that are referred to as pale lilac, deep lilac, rich lilac, and so on. There is even French lilac color that is used for interiors of a room when the shade desired is dark violet. Lilac is not only feminine but also romantic

Lavender is a shade that is light purple with a bluish tinge. It is the name of the flower that has been used to name the color. It remained the name of the flower for long, and then later the word was used to describe the shades of colors as lavender grey, lavender blue in a dictionary of colors.Lavender and lilac are names of flowers that are also used to indicate very similar shades of light purple.Lavender is pale purple color, whereas lilac is a pale purple color in which a dash of pink has been added.

Color is all around us. Wherever we look we see colors, even if we do not always notice them. Nature is full of color. Take a close look at snow or ice - if you can, you will see colors ranging from shades of white to shades of blue. Not even sand consists of a single color, but is made up of tiny grains of many different colors.

The human eye can differentiate between hundreds of thousands of individual colors. However, individual colors do not usually attract our attention, but rather their harmony or lack of it. A striking combination may either please or dismay us, but it will never leave us cold.

Please accept my congratulations for sharing a alluring verse of love, depicted through the symbols of colors and flowers in life, Your poems are worth translating to many other languages. Good luck dear Poetess Cherie Leigh Sumner, May God bless you
