Ever witness the elusive unicorn dance?

Whenever they rumba, they are taking a chance

That one of them may accidentally gore

The other one’s heart with their elongated horn

( From the beginning of time, sacred movement, song and story have brought people together - at times of seasonal ceremony and celebration, as part of everyday life and life passages, in daily renewal and meditation. The Dances of Universal Peace are part of this timeless tradition.-This themes of this Cherie Sumner's poem is highly appreciated )

Still, they tango and cha cha with style and flare

Their horns never pierce them due to great care

Call it intuition, committed guidance, or grace

But each prancing hoof step is never misplaced

( Unicorns enthrall us. Overall the verse is symbolizing stillness and good luck. They are considered religious guides and said to possess healing powers. It seemed natural for me to feature them as admirable elegant dancers with lessons in protecting their loved one from destruction of their sharp horn, as humans should take care not to hurt the ones they love with mean words or hurtful actions and protecting each others hearts )

A soul mate connection binds them profound

In spirited dance they go around and around

Sometimes in passion, he may nibble and bite

And at times, she gets playful and kicks in delight

( The Dances are the most important aspect of the celebrations but there is space for so much more. Singing together and rediscovering our beautiful voices )

But neither unicorn considers stopping the dance

The chemistry between them stirs up great romance

Each stays aware of their long horn’s capacity

To cause damage, so they stay alert with tenacity

(The great romance is  in rhythm with earth and sky, celebrating life through dance, voice and creative play. . These simple circle dances, which can be wonderfully joyful and yet profoundly moving, are inspired by the wisdom and sacred phrases of a number of spiritual traditions. Essentially they are a form of meditation through sacred sounds and devotional movements.)

Two fragile linked hearts, beating completely aligned

Committed to each other, by protective design

They dance in celebration, with fervor and gust

Secure in their yoked relationship built on trust

( This is a life celebration tool and it applies to everything you do. Within just a few minutes you can totally transform the way you see your life, and so empower yourself to make the changes that will bring you success and happiness that lasts.)

Our love is unique like these one horned steeds

Worthy to protect, when doubtful thoughts impede

Our lax words or actions could pierce like the horns

Of the carefully paired enchanting unicorns

( As we perform the art of dance we must be very careful not to hurt one another. As it is the case with the unicorn, we must ballet while ensuring that we do not accidently thrust our horn into the others. This is highly poetical and romantic )

This whirlwind romance is like a unicorn dance

We twirl passion around and we still risk the chance

That one of us could possibly hurt, maim, or gore

The others vulnerable heart stabbed to its blood core

(The Dances honor the different spiritual traditions of the world through the use of chants, songs and sacred phrases accompanied by simple steps and acoustic music. They are danced in circles using traditional and stylised movement. The dances are beautiful and expressive often creating a deep sense of peace, unity and heart connection)

Like the unicorn’s example, I’ll be careful too

Protecting your heart, all days forward and through

With abiding trust and nurturing affection

Our own unicorn dance may thrive in perfection

(The unicorn is a legendary animal that has been described since antiquity as a beast with a large, pointed, spiraling horn projecting from its forehead. The unicorn was depicted in ancient seals of the Indus Valley Civilization   and was mentioned by the ancient Greeks)

_____________________________________

In European folklore, the unicorn is often depicted as a white horse-like or goat-like animal with a long horn and cloven hooves In the Middle Ages and Renaissance. It was commonly described as an extremely wild creature, a symbol of purity and grace, which could only be captured by a virgin.

The influence of love and its related celebrations is the primary theme of this poem. The poem is a booming one, its rhythm is elegant and perfect. The choice of the suitable words stitched into sentences is magnificent. Of course the rhyme is faultless, and in parallel the poetess   depicts between the unicorns dance and human interaction are absolute traditions. As we perform the art of dance we must be very careful not to hurt one another. As it is the case with the unicorn, we must ballet while ensuring that we do not accidentally thrust our horn into the others. This is highly poetic and romantic. The message is therefore, to take precautions to ensure that we do not injure one another and we do not damage one another, emotionally, and or, spiritually:

A comparison of the unicorns in dance being careful not to hurt with their horns as compared in human love, we have to be careful not to harm with our words and actions our beloved.  So as we dance in relationships of love we have to be nurturing, and alert and respectful of one another needs to have a harmonious life together...like a graceful dance of unicorn.  The ones we love we are most likely to cause harm if our words and actions are not carefully controlled.

Traditionally, the unicorn and the dragon, phoenix, turtle and called the "four spirits," and they are symbols of peace and good fortune. And the dragon, phoenix, as Kirin is the worship of ancient ancestors and the natural forces of nature the product of myth. As a totem symbols freehand through Confucian refined interpretation of feudal emperors, myths, eventually evolved into a call folk sports. Adhering to the unicorn dance, "peace, harmony," the cultural implication, broadcasting "love, justice," the social educational function, and benefiting the "joy, fitness," the effect, thousands of years, been well depicted by Poetess Cherie Sumner. Cherie Sumner's poem is fabulous, amazing and alluring, the picture is superb.

Please accept my applause and congratulations for sharing this verse with COSMO viewers.
