"My Feet upon The Ground"

Each day I wake up, afraid to put my feet upon the ground
( This is poem written while the Poet is suffering from severe pain. I really appreciate Tony Taylor in writing this poem at this juncture. He is really brave. My applause for the Poet. And amazingly this is the 100th Poem from the Pen of the poet. Great)
The pain of touching them to the floor, physically frightening me
(The Poet is suffering from Peripheral Neuropathy and it is extremely painful )
Sometimes the needles that shoot through them, stab into my soul
(Most of the time, the Poet will have to keep his feet elevated and off of the floor due to severe of pain....)
Making me give in, for I have lost control
(Neuropathy plays a major role in the development of foot ulcers )
Of everything I used to be
( The Poet is having enough positive energy, that is why he himself wrote a poem of pain)
Except for the words, I use each day
( The Poet finds happiness to hunt for words for his poem)
That help me keep the pain away
(The hunt for words to complete his poem of pain makes him happy)
And today I have to say
(The Poet is happy in contributing his 100th poem to COSMO)
You people here at cosmofunnel
(The authors and viewers are in harmony and peaceful life both with the happy writing and reading)
Have been helping me more
(The poet is acknowledging the satisfaction he gets from COSMO)
Than you will ever know
(This is beyond the expressions of the Poet's word, sentences and phrases)
To keep "My feet upon the ground".
(The Poet is struggling to keep his leg on the floor, still he wish happiness to all. I really find poetry in his heart, thanks dear poetry friend Tony Taylor in revealing yous painful story at this moment and I wish an speedy recovery for the sickness)
Thank you all so very much..............hugs
(My love and hugs to you dear)

Diabetic neuropathy is a common complication of both type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes. Neuropathy plays a major role in the development of foot ulcers, which cause an enormous effect on quality of life for the patient (especially if amputation becomes necessary) and is also responsible for a very large health and social services expenditure.
Optimal control of all metabolic factors and regular organized surveillance of all people with diabetes is essential to reduce the risk of both development and progression of diabetic neuropathy and therefore reduce the risk of disability for the patient.
My friend and great Poet says " Peripheral Neuropathy is a progressive disease that kills the nerve endings in a persons extremeties (hands and feet) 99% of the time it is caused by diabetes but mine is not, it is rare, my condition......I have to keep my feet elevated 6 hours per day or I cannot walk at all. It causes seizures (I have had 5) it impairs your depth perception because your feet are also completely numb and you can't feel when your feet touch the ground, so you fall over if you don't use a walker or a cane. I have to take about sixteen pills each day (sometimes more or less) and it has generally ruined my ability to go outside and be with people. I spend 70% of my time in bed, I have nurses and doctors that come to my home each week........I have my second spinal surgery Thursday,,,we are trying to remove some blockage in my spine....there is more , bit I hope that this will help you....."
I really appreciate Tony Taylor's devotion and dedication towards writing. We all are with you dear Tony, Hopefully we all pray for your early recovery. Love and Hugs

Mr. M, I can't say enough about how you have broken down my words and helped everyone understand where they are coming from. It means SO much to me. I am still amazed at the poems, poets, and poetess's I read and receive comments from each day. It helps me keep my sanity and my thoughts from focusing so much on "pain". I have read your words to me sir, please know that you have brightened my spirit this day, and made it that much easier for me to keep pushing forward.....your friend, Tony Taylor...
S W that was a beautiful and very thoughtful thing for you to do for Tony and as his closest friend I would like to thank you also. He suffers terribly with this disease and yet he still manages to write such beautiful poetry. I am very proud of him and he has immense stamina to be able to survive as well as he does. I know you have made him very proud and happy with what you have done for him and I want you to know that all of us who know you on the site love you dearly and appreciate your fine talents for the written word. I love you dearly S W. G xx
Add to that he takes time to uplift and encourage other writers such as myself. Thank you Tony.
Tony we should talk...I am so heartbroken for your suffering...and now that I've made a connection...I'm frightened for you more knowing you have a device in your body that almost took my life twice, due to malfunctioning...I need to talk to you further about this device, and I'm looking into what I can do to help you more..
Pain, drives us away from society....but, our voices brings us back..to remind others of a journey, understanding, survival and pain....
I couldn't get the whole device out of my body, because it had been forgotten for seven years...but I did get what I could out...and I will warn the world about these devices... Medtronic just finished a class action lawsuit in 2011...because the pacemakers were shocking people...nobody would take my case, as I was the first experimental person with this in the upper back, thoracic area..
Stay strong, and believe...Keep writing, it's good for the soul. And remember you are not alone \
Love and hugs
Brenda...aka Giggles the Poet
My prayers are with you and Cherie
