Reflections on worldly love.

My thoughts while shopping at Beale's;
"Love as the world has come to understand it is an abstract, feel-good concept, perpetuated in and out of existence by human stupidities; a movie, a song, a speech. It remains a gaseous puff of subjectivity, void of any real applicability to a person's life. Love, as God has defined it, is an inescapable judgement of deeds; of hidden deeds. It is a sharp, piercing, never-ending commitment to another. Love is eternally binding, and being a person, a synthesis of the the temporal and of the eternal, I can only partially understand the most elementary aspects of the nature of love. The world does not love, since it is not capable of eternal love. It is eternally loved, and all those things which resemble love on earth are the spinoffs or offspring of that first and last eternal love. The river, while it does flow, does not flow from itself. The river flows from a mountain peak in the distance. Eternity is that mountain peak in the distance. The further the river flows, the more it is robbed of its purity. The world is a very distant valley, one must recognize it as such."- Silent John
