Rumpa Ray-Ghosh is a published poet, content writer, blogger, and fitness enthusiast. She is a trained classical vocal singer. Although born in Kolkata and a passionate Bengali at heart, she has lived in other prominent cities in India. She has been staying in Mumbai for the last 20 years. She is fascinated by traveling to different parts of the world and exploring the culture, tradition, and heritage of that region. This helps her in honing her skills and knowledge to compose poems on diverse topics such as nature, human life, urbanization, societal issues, sports, culture, and heritage. Art in any form attracts her, be it music, dance, painting or literature. Her opinions and perceptions towards life, as reflected in her writing, are significantly influenced by her father. The moral values inculcated in her at different phases of life empower her to realize the intrinsic meaning of life thus stimulating her to capture her ethical views on paper.
Rumpa is a postgraduate in Education and a B.Ed. from the University of Calcutta. She also holds a second Masters's degree in English literature from IGNOU. She has also earned an online certificate in English Grammar and Essay Writing from the University of California, Berkeley.
She has worked as a teacher at St. Thomas School, Mumbai, as a content writer for ‘Pratham’ (NGO), and as an English curriculum developer in Vibgyor High School, Mumbai. Rumba Ghosh is currently working as English Curriculum Developer & Trainer at Aseema Charitable Trust in Mumbai

She is also a writer for some international poetry groups and many of her poems have been published in national and international anthologies and magazines. She has participated in open-mic poetry reciting performances in the Prithvi Theatre arena and many other poetry events held in Mumbai. She has also attended International poetry festivals in Bhubaneshwar, Orissa, World Poetry Conference in Bathinda, Punjab, and Asian Literary Festival in Kolkata in 2019.
Due to their diverse interest in literature, music, history, sports, food, and movies, she, along with her family participated and attained the quarter-finalist position in the “ BBC Mastermind Family Quiz” competition which was telecast on Disney Channel (India) in 2013.
Proficient in classical vocal music and Rabindrasangeet (Tagore songs), she is a Sangeet Visharad from Bhatkhande Sangit Vidyapith, Lucknow, and trained under Late Pandit Vinayak Vohra. She has performed vocal music shows during her stay in Kolkata.
