Star Bate Saga: III
5 Years, Past
She was eager just to be standing in front of it. It was a colossally magnificent structure. Solid marble from the looks of it; which spoke to it's age. It was geometric in every way. The grandiose main building was perfectly square with stained glass windows depicting significant battles of time best forgotten. All around the building were smaller, octagonal slate buildings. These had no windows. Throughout campus were blooming bushes and rich foliage and various trees all shades of the green spectrum. These of course, were not real but simply holographs. This was common knowledge, for there hadn't been a plant based reality grown on earth in a 1,000 years. The grass wasn't a hologram, although that didn't mean it was real. It still crunched underfoot when the girl trod on it, but the sound was all the more unsettling. She approached the front of the main building. The celestially white stone was scorched with that of Stygian marks which read like letters and felt like solace. A dark plated sign hung en pointe.
Coalesce: Star Runner Academy Date 3018
She stepped and brushed off her uniform. It was a traditional ensemble. Skirt and turtleneck, both being of the holographic nature. A cadet's hat hid almost all her hair. She wore knee high white heeled boots as well. All in all, she was pretty covered, which made no matter to her. She relished in it. That way no one could she her marks unless they got close enough. And that was something she was going to make sure didn't happen.
She walked patiently up the steps. She carried a small analog and a small id card in her right hand. She slowed her pace further and approached a woman in black fatigues. She roughly grabbed the id card and scanned it. A pulsating light changed to green and the woman looked down at the card.
"Welcome to Coalesce, uh, Firre..Firmamament.."
"Firmament. Firmament Corre." the girl squeaked out. Her accent was feathered and scantily tantalizing.
"Right." the woman handed the card back roughly. Firmament took it quickly and shoved it into her pocket. As she was about to run off, the woman spoke up.
"Is it true you're the last ?" Firmament didn't answer. Her eyes grew sad and heavy and she just walked off. So it began.
As she stalked off, rubbing her eyes and barely coordinately making it over the threshold, she ran straight into a group of human boys. She was knocked down as they gave her no second glance. Her items sprawled as one of the boys with a silver streak looked back hurriedly but continued with his casual conversation.
Firmament stooped down to pick everything up and was joined by a short man, atleast three feet tall, with ridges along his forehead, light skin, and gamish eyes.
"Let me," he said as picked up her computer, 'I'm closer to the ground.'
Firmament smiled half-heartedly and thanked him. He nodded.
"The names Grayson. I'm from the Pinwheel galaxy. Up by Ursa Minor you know the place. You must be Firmament."
"I guess everyone here already knows."
"Please. The last sabaian? You're headline news. Much prettier in person though I must say."
"I really wish people would just let me be." She said as she dazedly wandered toward her next destination. Grayson kept up.
"If you ever need anything just ask. Oh and by the way," here he grew shy, "Do you remember the rose galaxy at all? Was it as ravishing as they said it was?"
By this time Firmament had tears in her eyes. She couldn't remember. Grayson paused noticing the change in her demeanor, which was a feat considering she had not started their conversation felicitous.
"That's okay. I just thought... I had a friend... Anyway, I have go, if you need anything, ask for me." And with that he flitted off just suddenly as he came and Firmament was alone again with her thoughts.
Although this time, they were more melancholic.
