My Sunday Day Greetings to COSMOFUNNEL Administration, to all authors, artistes and viewers

SYNOPSIS: This is my weekend writing column for a review of a poem from a selected author. This Column is being titled as " Sunday Musings " with a view to feature an in-depth analysis of  any one of the poems from the previous weeks winning nominations, selected by me at random to avoid the elaborate review or comment postings  by me in the usual comments column. Cherie Sumner's almost all poems are great success and have won the nominations; hence it was very difficult to choose the best one for my review. However, I shall plan this column in such a way to accommodate almost all style of poems by all poets and poetess of COSMOFUNNEL, which I hope will give more room for encouragement and inspirations to write. The poems selected are purely from my own liking and discretion and has nothing to do with the ratings, voting and nomination aspects. Hope, readers will understand my view point and enjoy my writing. My views and interpretations in this column are purely my own observations, and it has nothing to do with the personal life of the author of the poem.  I am eager to read your feed-backs.  I was unable to post this column to appreciate and review a COSMO poem on the 20th Sunday, due to the sad demise of my Dad, George Maveli. The poem which  I have taken-up for this Sunday Musings is this, " Thunder and Lightning " Posted by Poetess Cherie Leigh Sumner  very recently i.e on 09th August, 2014

• Thunder and Lightning

Thunder and lightning can be rather frightening
But not when the winds of change send enlightening
This was destiny’s strange way when I met you
First, there were storms I had to face and subdue

(Thunder is the sound caused by lightening. This symptom is almost same as in our life, symbolically. Thunder comes after lightning, Depending on the distance and nature of the lightning, thunder can range from a sharp, loud crack to a long, low growl)

My broken spirit yearned, crushed by betrayal’s burn
Yet it was a harsh lesson that I had to learn
In order for a beautiful truth to reveal
The right intended -  love of my life, by God’s will

( Good rhymes, well maintained by great Poetess Cherie Sumner. Thunderstorms develop when the atmosphere is unstable. When life becomes unstable, we go for spirituality and beg for God's love)

Every led circumstance was giving us a chance
To embrace the blessing of love in our romance
I know you are the one I have been waiting for
A perfect reflection of my spirit’s repertoire

(Thunder and lightning are some of the most spectacular weather phenomenon. The cause of this   is due to the formation of clashing clouds and usually last no more than few minutes. This is the same in our life too. Blowing-shouting and bursting and repenting-tears)

A love song is played as your sweet soul serenades
Massaging my heart when thoughts of you are replayed
I sense God protecting our new journey with care
An undeniable connection of love is there

(The poetic expressions used here are marvelous like "Massaging my heart ", " Sense of God protecting our new journey with care etc)

Feel it in my tender kiss and never resist
The affirmation of desire, my sincere promise
I love you with such a deep devotion and praise
Let me express my affection for you, always

(A Quote from William Shakespeare is very significant at this point.  "No sooner met but they looked, no sooner looked but they loved, no sooner loved but they sighed, no sooner sighed but asked one another the reason" A well narrated stanza, depicting the in-depth love)

Thunder and lightning are no longer frightening
The electric storm in you is only exciting
I present my metal lightning rod way up high
As your conductive love strikes, I give thanks to the sky

• READ BETWEEN THE LINES

A thunderstorm is a sequence of unexpected electrical discharges resulting from atmospheric conditions. These discharges result in sudden flashes of light and trembling sound waves, commonly known as thunder and lightning. These two symbols were beautifully depicted by Poetess Cherie Sumner to resemble the love element in this poem. Thunderstorms are associated with dark and thick clouds and are often accompanied by rainfall. Thunderstorms develop when the atmosphere is unstable; this is when warm air exists underneath much colder air. As the warm air rises it cools and condenses forming small droplets of water. If there is enough instability in the air, the updraft of warm air is rapid and the water vapor will quickly form a thick cloud. Typically, these clouds can form in under an hour. In literature, to show human sorrows, or sadness is always depicted as thick clouds
