My Sunday Day Greetings to COSMOFUNNEL Administration, to all authors, artistes and viewers

SYNOPSIS: This is my weekend writing column for a review of a poem from a selected author. This Column is being titled as " Sunday Musings " with a view to feature an in-depth analysis of any one of the poems from the previous week, selected by me at random to avoid the elaborate review or comment postings by me in the usual comments column. Cherie Sumner's almost all poems are great success and have won the appreciation and applause; hence it was very difficult to choose the best one for my review. However, I shall plan this column in such a way to accommodate almost all style of poems by all poets and poetess of COSMOFUNNEL, which I hope will give more room for encouragement and inspirations to write. The poems selected are purely from my own liking and discretion and has nothing to do with the ratings, voting and nomination aspects. Hope, readers will understand my view point and enjoy my writing. My views and interpretations in this column are purely my own observations, and it has nothing to do with the personal life of the author of the poem. I am eager to read your feed-backs. I was unable to post this column to appreciate and review a COSMO poem on the 20th Sunday, due to the sad demise of my Dad, George Maveli. The poem which I have taken-up for this Sunday Musings is this: In The Shadows of Your Love, posted By Poetess Cherie Leigh Sumner, on July 28th

I am far from perfect, my insecurities rule
When I lashed out at you, I never meant to
I have tried to get close to your ghost for so long
When you retreat in darkness, I wish I was strong
(Our visual capacities in day-to-day life are bombarded by lots of outside metaphors. Often, there isn't much room for other images to arise, other than in our imaginations. Great thoughts from Poetess Cherie Sumner)
You keep drawing me close, then push my heart away
I wonder - Will love’s power stay to save the day?
My affection I offer should nurture with healing
Your distance feels cold, your numbness – unfeeling
(Someone came for a moment to your side and touched your heart with much mystery for a nurturing and healing, Life is not just to live, but to love and get to be loved buys others)
I have been living in the shadows of your love
Trying to reach you with fervent prayers sent above
So close to touching the essence of an angel
If only you could rise out of your self-condemned hell
(Thus you live by contemplating the body in the body itself, both internally and externally. But, if you live contemplating the body in the body externally, then it is like originating various factors in the body, or live in dissolution of factors within your way of thoughts)
Even your shadow leaves you when you sit in darkness
The demons haunt your soul, feast upon your carcass
I wish I could make you look into my sincere eyes
So they may rescue you from your certain demise
(In dark there is no shadows at all, when you are in light, you feel someone is following you, Your shadow is not an image of you, It is an opposite and equal reflection due too light)
There is no differing mindset, a wrong perception
My empathetic light could shine on dark’s deception
Sometimes I have seen in dancing shadows of you
A flickering light of hope trying to break through
(Human mind is like a monkey swinging from one branch to another through a forest. Mind contemplating is like an object and its shadow-the object cannot shake the shadow off)
Your spirit deserves a love of reflected beauty
In fleeting moments you bestowed me with that duty
It was an honor, a privilege, a precious gift
I drew you near to my heart, not perceiving a rift
(Some are forced to believe it is wrong to converse with the spiritual world or entity. They are convinced it will hinder us spirits and stop ot our progress by bringing our souls down to Earth)
I craved to share in your dreams and set us both free
I believed your romantic verses were written for me
You sparked magic in my heart; it could comprehend
The awakening of love, committed to the end
(Romance is something to do with intellectual performance among literates, unlike common laymen. The influence of love can be distributed to all classes of people in our surroundings, but it is truly different to different type of personalities in life)
Oh, lonesome phantom, how my devoted soul aches
To heal the dark silhouette of haunting heartbreaks
Until the mystery is solved, I am a mourning dove
Left Injured - living in the shadows of your love

Ask most of us what we look for in a romantic partner and we'll answer something like, a life plus love Chemistry or Attraction or Magic or Sparks. Of course, the majority of us also want a mate who is kind, has a sense of humor, has things in common with us, thinking almost in the same wave length and style of thoughts, but what we want is chemistry on top of all of that. We've all met that guy (or gal) who looks great on We usually don't stick with that person very long. But, according to psychologists, the last thing we should look for in a mate is spiritual spark, rather than a bodily spark.
Dear Poetess Cherie Sumner, Please accept my congrats for sharing a fabulous poem on love to COSMO viewers, Good luck, God bless.

Dear Poetess Cherie Sumner,
I am much delighted to know that this column is picking the attention of serious readers, This was my aim in writing and it has been materialized. Good. Thanks dear Author Eddie
Appreciating something doesn't have to mean that you like it. Appreciating something also means noticing or recognizing something. So poetry appreciation is really all about just that, recognizing and noticing things about poems. Few poems make strict sense, so most will leave you with questions. Let these questions in your mind lead your curiosity. Investigate the poem in any way you can and see what you discover. Also, don't stop looking because you can't make something out. Look instead at something else.
Your questions should be a starting point for study, not where you end up. All authors and viewers are open to participate in this poetry discussion to make it more creative and valuable; I really love to write on any types of poems, that is why I take extra pain in this regard. I am happy to know at least my column is being noticed and read by serious authors and viewers, Hope to continue my other columns, such as POET'S PEN, SUNDAY MUSINGS, CAPSULES, SEASHELLS, OFFERINGS TO LOVE, STORYLINE etc. A separate study, exclusively based on Poet Glenn's Sonnets are currently under my scrutiny titled as " GLENN'S SONNETS " which will be featured shortly.
Happy writings to all
Regards & Love
