The forgiveness

The forgiveness

The day my Carmencita was born, I did not really feel great joy.
Because the disappointment he felt seemed to be greater that great event that represents having a daughter. I wanted a boy!
Two days after was born, I went to pick up my two women, one look pale and exhausted and the other radiant and sleepy. In a few months she allowed me to be captivated by the smile of my Carmencita and by the infinite innocence of her gaze fixed and penetrating, that's when I began to love her madness. Her face, her smile and her gaze never left for an instant of my thoughts, everything I wanted to buy, I looked at each child, made plans on plans everything would be for my Carmencita.

This story was often told by Randolf, the father of Carmencita and I also felt great affection for the girl who was the greatest reason to live Randolf as said the most. One afternoon there was my family and Randolf's, picnic at the edge of a river near the house and the girl engaged in a conversation with her father, we all hear.
C- Daddy,... When I turn fifteen. What will be my gift?
R- But my love, if you are only ten years old, do not you think that much missing for that day?
C- Well daddy,... you always say that time flies by, although I've never seen it around here.
The conversation extended and all partake of it. When the sun goes down we return to our houses.

One morning I met Randolf in front of the school where she studied Carmencita, who was already fourteen years old. Randolf looked very happy and the smile did not leave his face. With great pride showed me the qualification of Carmencita, they were awesome notes, no drop of one hundred points and the stimuli written by their teachers were really moving, congratulate the happy dad.
Carmencita occupied all the joy of the house, in the mind and heart of the family, especially in that of her father.
It was a very early Sunday when we went to mass, when Carmencita stumbled upon something, we all believed and stumbled. her father grabbed her immediately so she would not fall... Already installed in the church, we saw how Carmencita was slowly falling on the bench and almost lost consciousness.
We take her in arms, while her dad was looking for a taxi to the hospital. she remained there for ten days and it was then that he was informed that his daughter had a serious illness that seriously affected her heart. But it was not definitive, he had to practice other tests to arrive a firm diagnosis.
The days went by, Randolf resigned his work to dedicate himself to the care of Carmencita, her mother wanted to do it but they decided that she would work, because her income was superior to his.
One morning Randolf was next to his daughter, when she asked him.
C- I'm going to die, is not it? Did the doctors tell you that?
R- No my love... you're not going to die, God who is so great would not allow me to lose what I have loved over this world.
C- They go somewhere? Can you see from above your family?
R- Well daughter,... In truth nobody has returned from there to tell something about it, but if I died, I would not leave you alone, being in beyond would seek the way to communicate with you, I would ultimately use the wind to come and see you.
C- The wind? and how would you do it?
R- I have no the slightest idea, little girl, I only know that if I die one day, you will feel that I am with you, when a gentle wind brushes your face and cool breeze kisses your cheeks.

That same day in the afternoon, they called Randolf, the matter was serious, his daughter was dying they needed a heart, for hers would last only fifteen or twenty more days.
R- A heart! Where to find a hear? Would sell it at the pharmacy perhaps, the supermarket or in one of those big stores that advertise by radio and television? A heart!! Where my God?
That same month, Carmencita would fulfill its fifteen years. And it was Friday afternoon when they got a donor, a donor, a hope lit up everyone's eyes, things were going to change. Sunday afternoon Carmencita was operated, everything went as the doctors had planned. Total success!
But nevertheless, Randolf had not returned yet by the hospital, her mother told her that everything was fine and that her dad would be the one who would work to support the family.
Carmencita remained in the hospital for fifteen more days, the doctors had not wanted to let her go until her heart was firm and strong and they did.

When they got home all sat down on a huge couch and their mother with tears in the eyes handed her a letter from her father.
" Carmencita, daughter of my heart:
At the time of reading my letter, you must be fifteen and a strong heart beating in your chest, that was the promise that the doctors who operated on.
You can not imagine how much I regret not being by your side this moment when I knew that you were going to die, I decided to answer a question that you asked me when you were ten years old and to which I did no respond.
I decided to make you the most beautiful gift anyone would ever do for my daughter... I give you my whole life without any conditions, so that you do with it what you want.
Live daughter!!!! I love you with all my heart!!!

Carmencita cries all day and all night.
The next day she went to the cemetery ans sat on her father's grave, she cried like nobody else has done and whispered.
{C- Daddy,... Now I can understand how much you loved me I also loved you and although I never told you, now I understand the importance of saying " I LOVE YOU" and I would ask your pardon for having been silents so many times.}
at that moment the treetops fell gently, some leaves and flowers fell, and a soft cold breeze brushed Carmencita's cheeks, looked up at the sky, tried to wipe the tears from her face, got up and started back to her home.
